Sure. I’m wondering why the child was tested overseas though and maybe there is more detail to be revealed.Kids tend to be asymptomatic.

That might scare me off permanently. This is garbage. If you have the nerve to turn up in the state of Victoria without a permit it's a $5,000 fine.
Sheesh.
So Vic wont count this as a local case, but Im sure WA will treat it that way wrt resetting the 28 day clock.

Is she in Vic? Surely QLD does not have any jurisdiction if she doesn't?My niece returned from the Gold Coast via Brisbane airport a week ago.
She received a SMS from Qld Health today instructing her to quarantine at home till 6PM tonight...

Or where your permit is invalidated, you become a Prohibited Person and the Authorised Officers are after you? Victoria invalidates permits whenever they feel like it.How long until the website to apply for a permit that renders you liable to a $5,000 fine if it isn't produced, crashes?
"If I get public health advice to lock out another part of the country ... I will not hesitate to do that," he said.
"The stakes are very high here. We have built something that is precious and it needs to be safeguarded."
Blame governments and oppositions past for placing no or little defined limits to State of Emergency powers.Or where your permit is invalidated, you become a Prohibited Person and the Authorised Officers are after you? Victoria invalidates permits whenever they feel like it.
People literally fled countries that implemented this kind of Orwellian control.
In some countries.Standrd practice for all internatuonal arrivals to be tested before being admitted into community.
It's Victoria, who knows? Based on the article I posted earlier this morning, you could be held at the airport for five hours and then put into quarantine at your own expense.Genuine question as to what happens to those traveling on flights departing before this system goes live for applying (as of 15:45 it is NOT available via Services Victoria website) but land after 17:59?
When I landed in WA on Christmas Day there were a number of staff available to help those who had not applied for/been granted a G2G pass prior to departure which was good to see.

To be honest, don’t know. But there is a possibility of a worse outcome. It does depend how reasonable Vic officials are on the ground.Genuine question as to what happens to those traveling on flights departing before this system goes live for applying (as of 15:45 it is NOT available via Services Victoria website) but land after 17:59?

I'm also a little curious to know the legal avenue that the Victorian government is using to enforce the fine. Given they've so far, I believe, been unable to charge interstate arrivals for hotel quarantine.
Want are you thinking? Unexpected Quarantinees (is that the right word?) being led away in handcuffs! To be honest, don’t know. But there is a possibility of a worse outcome. It does depend how reasonable Vic officials are on the ground.
One reported example of a previous day did not sound promising.
