I don’t have a problem with that.If you come back before Friday, you will need to isolate when you return to Perth.

- TAS will probably follow VIC
I suspect you will be OK, possibly a test on arrival and self isolate until negative. Hopefully for you and others on board.I am currently in air on a QF flight from PER to MEL. A man across the aisle had heard about the new COVID case and I heard him asking the FA if flight was still going. This was 12:30pm. Obviously it was too soon for Victoria to have heard or made decisions. We took off. In flight WiFi, so I listened to Mark McGowan’s press conference. Most passengers will have no idea. We don't know yet if we can go about our business in Melbourne or if Victoria wants us to quarantine for 14 days. My sister in Melbourne is keeping an ear open. If Vic wants 14 days quarantine, which is their right, then I hope I can fly home immediately or on the next available flight. I can hardly visit my mother in aged care, which is the purpose of this trip.
I live on the other side of the city to the security guard and went nowhere he or his family did. I was at work in Joondalup all week. Nevertheless I respect whatever decisions will be made. I just hope it’s not a tit-for-tat reaction. We saw how far and quick the Black Rock case went, so we cannot be too careful.
I just hope I can fly back home to Perth.
Edit: flight arrives 6:20pm Melbourne time
This is ridiculous ..... 5 days shutdown for 1 case. If this happens in NSW, Sydney would be continuously locked down for like 12 months!
So AP is locking down WA for 1 case, and she still wants the rest of us to pay for her madness?
Not the case, TAS has been the 2nd...
Those who landed off QF1004 PER to HBA today have now been asked to self isolate and wait for further instructions.
We should turn this into a betting game... who will be next.
Actually if it was possible shut your state border to yourself then WA would have been first
Well they did shut the internal borders first!Damn!
I did pick trigger happy QLD to go first though which is so ironic since hours ago QLD was begging for other states tax payers to bail out our local tourism industry hit hard because of our trigger happy border decisions like.... this one. You could not write a black comedy this farcical

Well it wasn’t official but he did suggest everyone lock WA out - 2 hours agoDamn!

YepTravel INTO WA
Lockdowns affect some people adversely, pandemics affect everyone significantly. We have a very open society here in QLD now with very very or no local restrictions. We are pleased that this is the case. Sympathy to the very few affected, but better than many of us infected. Sorry.I suspect you will be OK, possibly a test on arrival and self isolate until negative. Hopefully for you and others on board.
She can well and truly get stuffed. Wants everyone else to pay for her crazy decisions.
As should all the other premiers. These closures are insane.
Yes he appeared and gave a brief run-down on the situation and took questions.Did WA’s invisible CHO actually appear at any point?
All I’ve seen referenced is the police chief and their Premier....

The WA Gov were pretty cagey about the implications for FIFO which has been one of the reliable earners for VA/QF/QQ etc.
"FIFO workers in the lockdown regions will not be permitted to travel to work in other parts of the state for the five-day period.
FIFO workers currently in other regions outside the lockdown zone, for example the Pilbara, have been instructed to remain where they are."
It's largely the same in TAS, VIC, NSW, SA, NT and WA until a few hours ago.Lockdowns affect some people adversely, pandemics affect everyone significantly. We have a very open society here in QLD now with very very or no local restrictions. We are pleased that this is the case. Sympathy to the very few affected, but better than many of us infected. Yes and that was implemented in Tasmania. Although at the time they said they couldn’t force people not to take a second job, for reasons I didn’t understand. So wasn’t one of the lessons of the Victorian second wave that those working in HQ should be paid well enough that they don’t have to and must not work a second job?
You could pay some people a million dollars, they would still use their day off to work another job for some more money. So wasn’t one of the lessons of the Victorian second wave that those working in HQ should be paid well enough that they don’t have to and must not work a second job?
