Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

I expect just the same process as with WA HQ man recently in Melb.

However symptom onset on 8 May, tested on 10 May. One can be infectious prior to symptoms, and so could well have been infectious for many days.

So following our HQ gift from WA we now get one from SA HQ :( Which just goes to show that these HQ generated cases can happen anywhere.

Oh well just roll out the second ring method and it will soon be squashed again.

Just be interesting now to see the list of exposure sites for those 4 days.
That's a very long incubation period unless he contracted it in quarantine very late in the period. Positive Covid people are sent to a higher level med hotel in SA.

All bets are open at present. The genomic results will hopefully narrow down the possibilities.

There could be implications for SA and so presumably some there may be placed back into quarantine or asked to self-isolate.

Since UK variant emerged many countries have required a 21 day not 14 day HQ including Hong Kong and Singapore. If genomic testing shows that the person did not acquire covid whilst n HQ, then it may be time to review the duration of quarantine

And plane flights ADL - Mel presuming he flew.

Yes, this should just pretty much mirror what happened with WA HQ Man. Though hopefully tis time he did not do a grand tour of Adelaide as well ;)

Though you would still expect testing today in SA of anyone he was near. HQ staff and others. Those who where in HQ rooms near him etc.

Just follow the process and all should be good.

PS. With any luck may just be shedding.... Probably not though as had symptoms.

That he waited 2 days after system onset after having been in HQ is a worry though.

Sad to say, but agree :(

Just reported The person in the room next door was positive and moved out to Toms court. Looks like it fell apart at this moment and got it somehow.

HQ leakage is really just part of the new normal now. Nobody seems interested in addressing that.

Nothing is going to happen on fixing these HQ leaks so these events will happen what appears to be nearly weekly. For a long time yet.

Perhaps it might be the key to giving the people of this land a much needed kick up the cough and get the jab!

So no post-HQ testing? Or was that process implemented in some States only...

Too soon to increase number of HQ days. For 1 case......maybe 5 historically have made it past 14 days. We also need to see if this is intra-HQ transmission

I thought they were supposed to be tested on discharge day (Day 14) and also 2 days after that.

There is really no excuse for not testing on discharge with a rapid saliva test (or even a nasal swab as results would be available within 24 hours).

Probably time to also introduce a rule that if your hotel neighbor tests positive and is moved to a health a hotel, that they then automatically test everyone else on the same floor again just to be sure.

That doesn’t seem right. The Playford is just a regular HQ. The bloke in the room next door tested positive so would have been sent to Tom’s Court medi hotel.

Thank you. Tiffany must not know her facilities.

Though the ABC also describes it as a medi-hotel???????

"This new case in Victoria was in a room at the Playford medi-hotel alongside another traveller who was one of our cases."
