Isnt it great that this thread is starting to slow down.
well at least unlikely to be a mystery....TBCDammit. Spoke too soon.
3 locally acquired cases in SA.
"The source of the new infection is not known and authorities are engaging in urgent contact-tracing.
A woman in her 80s was diagnosed at the Lyell McEwin Hospital emergency department on Saturday. She was wearing a mask at the hospital but 90 people – staff and patients – at the time will be ordered to quarantine.
Since then, two other family members have been confirmed positive – a female in her 50s and a man in his 60s.
They are a child of the woman in her 80s, and the child’s partner – and one of them has worked in a medi-hotel holding quarantined patients."
While we have returning travellers from overseas it will continue to pop up into the community. We can only hope it gets stomped on immediately. If the older woman hadn't gone to hospital for a completely different issue then it would have gone undetected. The main risk it seems is a visit to a local large shopping centre in the north of Adelaide.Interesting isn’t it. Two jurisdictions that have “eradicated” the virus still have cases popping up (NZ and now SA). It’s almost like it’s just a virus that will continue to circulate in all communities hopefully at levels low enough to contain. As we were told from Day 1.

I don’t think the whole truth has come out yet. Think there is a very real possibility of a cluster coming out of this with some talk that it involves an aged cafe facility and possibly a child care facility. While we have returning travellers from overseas it will continue to pop up into the community. Yatala being mentioned now. It's been six months since our last case of community transmission according to SA Health. Sigh. Four other members with symptoms. Possibly the link with Peppers medi hotel. Also potential transfer to the Prison system and mining sector.
The alternative I want is more transparency from SA Health that they are monitoring the sudden increase and reassuring the community there is no need for concern because of xyz reason/s.
I just want some indication that someone other than me has noticed the sudden increase and is actively monitoring it in case something is going awry. Not just complacency that 'everything is fine because we are perfect'.
It is something we have to deal with or else leave Australians stranded overseas. Would that be your preference? Could easily have been you stranded. Or maybe SA doesn’t share in the load that every other state has to deal with except currently Victoria. You were concerned about sheer numbers. In reality it only takes one. But that’s the reality of our lives now.If only someone had noticed SA Health's issue earIier. Oh, wait.
Please explain. If only someone had noticed SA Health's issue earIier. Oh, wait.
