Avianca LifeMiles – Bookings and Discussion

Going to Thailand on Thai for around $1500 and sometimes even being able to snag Singapore Airlines with Avianca is too good to give up. Maybe in the near future but for now I am going to hope the options are still there when we are all ready to travel again

Just curious, haven’t bothered logging on. Anyone know if they have updated PER-TYO on the site yet? It wasn’t searchable previously as there were no flights, and they didn’t fix it when ANA started up

Is everyone else who had miles previously getting notices about them expiring?? From further up-thread, my parents world trip that was cancelled had over 400k miles refunded (still waiting on some money back actually but that's another matter for now!). However, they've now been told they have until June 30 to use them or they'll expire!! I'm thinking purchasing a few more migth give them some more time to decide but thought I'd just see if others had similar experience. Thanks.

Yep same here and although i really cant see us using the miles for travel in the short term - will probably use it for local hotel accom. Will just purchase a 1000 miles to keep it ticking over.

Anyone booked Air NZ recently? I note good availability trans Tasman but the process seems to fail immediately after selecting flights (not at payment stage that I remember being more common). Can't remember if this is a long standing issue?

good question - I would like to use LMs for trans-Tasman flights but have not seen any days with business class (Nov-Dec 2021). (none on QF either) - should have booked before the bubble opened (as there were lots of availability then)

I am looking in the next month and see plenty of Air NZ business on LM and also QF business with AA miles.

I guess your dates are before the ski season and before the summer season. I do see VA awards which I might snag with cash Y fare + upgrades (don't have sufficient points for full award).

Given that there seems to be no flights using Lifemiles from/to Australia at the moment i think we are really going to need this new discussion page to help each other out
Given international travel is slowly opening up shall we create a thread for

Avianca LifeMiles 2022 – Bookings and Discussion

There are a smattering of business class flights available - albeit into SYD. For example 24 APR ICN-SYD on Asiana, 20 APR TYO-SYD on ANA on both their daily flights at 0850 and 2230, 21 APR is available on the 0850 flight only. Outbound there are some flights on both OZ and NH.

I just searched for a week starting 20 April, so there is some stuff out there, but finding seats using the LM search engine can be tedious. you might try the UA or Aeroplan tools for an initial search, but LM isn't exactly replicating them.

The only flights I could find were a couple from Bangkok to South Korea using Asiana in Biz class, everything else was Econ
The old trusty Thai airways which I always used had nothing at all only Econ OS but nothing from/to Melb. I was even lucky once or twice to book Singapore Airlines in the past but zilch again
Yep i will try using UA and see if i get any luck there

Anyone got an ideas or heard any rumors when there might be some redemptions from/to australia? There is still nothing there. I've got miles to burn

I have mostly used Thai for these redemptions but i understand that they are going through a major loss of staff and restructure. I am hoping this is not the death of Lifemiles

There was limited availability but like all the other programs that's dried up a little bit. There was quite a bit of OZ availability out of SYD, and a smattering of NH availability. NZ has always been near impossible, and SQ doesn't release premium inventory to anyone. There is still the odd date for OZ and NH though, and possible BR out of BNE. You'd likely have to do a screenshot booking for ports beyond ICN/TYO.

I have been lucky enough to score Singapore Airlines out of BKK in the past to MEL. Maybe i will also look out/in Syd but nothing in/out Mel so far

I guess it is hopefully just a waiting game and there will be more opportunities in the very near future

LM has manually booked SQ out of BKK for me too, but it doesn't normally show on any of the search results - at least for business class. There have been times when SQ has released inventory but coded it as 'regional' and it sometimes shows, but that's rare these days.

There is nothing really to/from MEL at the moment. Aeroplan is the better option for that as it includes a 'free' domestic connection on VA to SYD/BNE/PER to connect with OZ/NH/BR.

I dunno whether TG is going to release as much premium inventory going forward... they are supposed to be 'making money'... allegedly.

It was such a long time ago but I think i found the sing airlines seats actually online??? So have you just called and asked Lifemiles for seats on SG without seeing them?

I did not realise that i could get a flight to/from Syd/BNR/PER using Aeroplan... I have never heard or seen that. I have always just paid my own way.. WOW!!!
Can you please confirm what these are: OZ/NH/BR - Asiana / Nippon / Eva?
