Avianca LifeMiles – Bookings and Discussion

I am finding no J awards on our preferred routes on LM. The only J awards coming up are on Turkish via Istanbul. We would prefer going direct. It looks like other * airlines are only making Y inventory available to LM in General.

Let's hope this is just due to limited flight schedules. Are you seeing availability for routes you want to take with United or AC?

No nothing for our routes. I haven't tried using United as I'm not sure if if i find seats there that Lifemiles will actually ticket them...

Like everyone above i am really hoping this is just temporary and when there are more flights there will be more seats

It’s just doing a search on United or Aeroplan to see if there are actually seats, at all. It may not be a LM issue, but one to do with availability generally.

LM had its fair share of premium availability on select routes into Australia, and between asia and europe. But those seats got taken.

There were seats, do you mean for 2022? I have been looking off and on for a while.... wow they must have been snapped up pretty quickly

Yeah, there were seats for 2022. NH and OZ in and out of SYD. NH to Perth. NH and OZ between asia and Europe and vv. BR for some intra asia flights between Taipei and China/Japan. What’s missing is the wide open availability on TG we’d become used to.

I recently booked OPO-IST-SIN-MEL for travel in July - 2 pax. Mixed class booking with OPO-IST-SIN in business on TK and SIN-MEL in economy with SQ.

Has SQ in Y always been available with LifeMiles? There seems to be 2 seats available for SYD and MEL for most of 2022.

Pretty much always been available since I joined LM in 2016.

So i just looked up some random flights out of Mel/Syd. Clicking on 'show more fare options' gives me this sort of response!! who would pay 759k points and almost $7k USD for in cash for 1 person in Biz class for what we use to get with just our points (and a small fee)???

WHAT ARE THEY DOING??? who would do this???

*shrugs shoulders*... but then who would drop a couple million or more QF points for the same ticket you could get for 1/10th if using a classic award?

I think their 'other options' is still a work in progress. Most of the time it returns a nil result.

Has anyone used LM on swiss? I'm looking at booking Germany to JFK and Swiss is available in J, with a short transit in gva or Zurich. Transits in Switzerland look safe at the moment.

The alternative is economy Singapore Airlines.

There shouldn’t be any issues. Swiss has good availability trans atlantic and a reasonable product. Short transit via Zurich is common and very achievable. you will in any event be covered by EU261 if there are any delays meaning you’ll be re-routed.

Does anyone know what class LM economy awards on TG book into, specifically with regards to luggage allowance? We're looking at having to use a staging flight to BKK for our Canadian ski holiday next year, and unless TG opens up J class to LM, we could just about suffer a daylight leg in Y, as long as we can get 30kg allowance.

It's 'X' as an economy award. Baggage allowance per TG website. Dunno how baggage allowance is affected if continuing to/from Nth America.

Does anyone know if it's possible to use LM for an economy united international flight and then pay for an upgrade to premium or economy plus with United?
