When I attempted login int actually came up with an error that VPNs can't be used for access to the LM site.which VPN? ProtonVPN is working here.
Mine is a free Malwarebytes VPN.

I wouldn’t trust LM availability at the moment. 5c a point is very high… but they have sliding scale for top ups. The ‘sweet point’ for top ups is about 1.5 US cents per point, which is applicable from around 42% of the award. Any more points than that will start to get charged a much higher rate.
From memory it should be 55k points for the one way BNE-TPE.
Pre covid EVA air probably had one of the best business classes out there. Vintage champagne (La Grande Dame) as standard, PJs as standard. Reverse herringbone seats.
Dunno how they are post covid.
I wouldn’t be buying points speculatively. I might consider buying points to get me to the 42% sweet spot, with the ability to top up for 1.5c per point at checkout.

My bad. It’s 50 out and 40 back.It's only 50k for BNE-TPE.
Thanks, I'll do some more research on the slider trick, maybe I can buy a couple of thousand to get to the 1.5c sweetspot.

Must be a malwarebytes issue. Nord and Proton are working.
Ouch… well that would hurt if it’s gone40 back, I forgot about that! nice.
I can confirm the slider sweetspot trick is gone. I have 64% of the miles already and every click of the slider is +$35, it doesn't change.
Will wait for a sale.
EDIT: The slider trick works for PER-BKK but not BNE-TPE. Ah the joys of LM, I'd almost forgotten. lol
No can't see any J on LM, only United. I just used it to test the slider. Can you actually see TG J availability on PER-BKK? I couldn't see any Thai availability via LifeMiles in any premium cabin a few weeks ago (only economy).
Just picked up the 18000 points I need for $384 AUD. Bit more reasonable!Actually it's 18000 LM that I need and they want $900 AUD for those. That works out to 0.05 AUD/point which seems a bit rich.
oh nooooo I believe miles were extended to December 2021? A friend of mine ‘lost’ 400,000 or so, the day before the extension (due to covid) was announced. He was successful in getting the miles reinstated because it was literally the day before.OMG - i have just seen that i have lost 150k points because i have not used them. I thought they were automatically rolling over cause of Covid... What do i do???? how do i get them back? i am stressing out.
I was on the chat with Lifemiles and they said to get the points back i would need to pay $1,490 USD. Is there any way around this?
Thanks @MEL_Traveller . It is worth trying. Yep it might be difficult to get them back. I was thinking of trying to call them. On the chat today the person had no sympathy at all, they only just expired in June. I was hoping there was some sort of hack or something that someone had found to get the points re-instatedoh nooooo I believe miles were extended to December 2021? Nothing to lose sending them an email… see if someone else is more lenient with you.
This post on twitter sounds like it might be a tough ask…
No harm in trying every available avenue! My friend emailed explaining they missed the extension by one day (and were successful). Thanks @MEL_Traveller . It is worth trying. I really thought this was one that I didn’t need to think about and I was monitoring others. I stuffed up big time.
I don’t know if $$ to reinstate is worth it given all the complexities. Might be better spending the same money on aeroplan or american, etc.Yeah, but it is a lot of money to reinstate all my points for something that might not even be possible; to get Bus class seats anymore... I have not seen any for ages. He said that i have about 6 months before i have to decide if i want to re-instate my points. I might just see if there are any more Bus/First seats that become available before i decide to spend almost $15000 USD
I think that is sound advice. I will try calling and then if there is no luck i will write an email
yeah... I actually haven't looked into aeroplan, this one is new to me... sounds like i am about to start learning a whole new way of getting pointsI don’t know if $$ to reinstate is worth it given all the complexities. Might be better spending the same money on aeroplan or american, etc.
For LM that’s about as fancy as it gets Only other airline better than BR would be LH F!Finally managed to book something.
ICN-TPE-BNE on BR J for 40k miles in March.
It’s nothing fancy but feels good to burn some LM.
I like the newish website layout, feels more user friendly and also less steps to complete when finalising the booking. Now if only award availability could also improve…
