Avianca LifeMiles – Bookings and Discussion

When I thought I was getting out of LM soon, I had to cancel the booking. It was not bad actually. Was on the phone for 28 mins with just a few min hold. It would have been done in about 15 mins if she had just sent the payment link to my email, not the phone CC processing first which didn't work.

If you think LM is bad, wait until you cancel the booking at Eva. It's 2024 and I still had to download the form, filled it up and sent it back with a copy of passport and also had to wait for them to call me back to confirm stuff 😂

I jumped into LM regardless of ppl warning. Stupid me, I know. Now I am stuck with LF and their Subscription but could not generate any ticket booking. Different route, different star Alliance Airline. Always got error after selecting passengers. And if it's phantom space, how is it possible that I could go ahead and booked with Velocity.

Could someone please give me some guidance on what you did or how did you managed to book with LM recently?

I don't believe there is any solution.

I wouldn't compare with Velocity though...check against a Star Alliance airline like United. More than likely the inventory is real though.

Yes, compared against United. However because I could not booked with LM and have no United and exhaused my Aeroplan points then had to use Velocity to book.

Well I have seats aero. It used to have LM but not anymore. So I look at aeroplane and UA to see what may be available on airlines that some times have J award availability then look at the LM site to see what is available there.
I am actually right now in the NZ lounge at SYD awaiting our TG J award flight to BKK through LM.

Wow. I couldn’t finalise any booking with TG and Singapore Airlines

Did both UA and AC show that seats were available for redemption?
If memory is correct I did see them on those 2.

Had this issue recently. First of all, LF is the worst, I really hate this FF Program and its website. Made the mistake of buying miles in one of their monthly promos and I am planning to never do this again. Moving to Aeroplan or Velocity Australia but avoid LifeMiles at all costs.

I was trying to book a flight from BOG to LAX for my wife and I back in November and after entering all passenger details and credit card info, this error comes up saying "the bank could not authorise the credit card. Please try with a different credit card." I tried Amex, Visa and Mastercard from different banks and had the same error.

The only thing I was always doing was changing the contact number and some of the passenger details. However, In my last attempt, I decided not to change anything and voila, payment succeeded and it worked.

The LifeMiles website and all their staff in El Salvador are the most useless humans I've ever dealt with on earth.

Sorry but this no longer works either.
Another reason why to avoid LifeMiles completly.
You will find business reward seats on Aeroplan, United and even Velocity but these same availaibility won't be available in LifeMiles. This is third-world Frequent Flyer program that even the Star Alliance partner airlines have not respect for, hence they no longer release business reward seats to book via LifeMiles.

I booked my TG awards in April.
It certainly is possible to still get J awards on LM. My method still increases the chance of finding them.
Using Amex to pay LM it’s very wise to ring and talk to them. I certainly had problems using my Amex but after notifying them a few times I can now use it without problem.

Yeah agree, but totally happen if people look elsewhere as it’s all too hard.
But aeroplan is offering the same routing on a variety of airlines… ANA, Asiana etc. Yes, it’s $80 more, but it’s fast, easy, and if there are any issues you can speak to someone. Plus much cheaper if you need to change or cancel.

Not a good enough reason to buy LM points.

If Aeroplan had sales with the regularity that LM does, I'd agree. Plus I find a lot of routes from Australia to Asia with AP are in the 60k tier, where LM charges anywhere from 36k-50k for the same route.
