re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Hi guys,

Trying to get some flight from Mel - Sin in J for the end of Sept 2016. Was trying to use the MEL-CGK or MEL -KUL screenshot method but can't seem to find anything available. Have these dried up or been removed. Any other suggestions apart from T-14 that I could try? TIA

Bump - Anyone?

Bump - Anyone?

I saw some SQ the other day on MEL-SIN when looking at MEL-KEF as a whole. It was on a 773 flight with the 2-2-2 J class. E.g.

Not seeing it show up in late Sep though.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I've also seen SYD-SIN-DUS in SQ J show up on LM - but did a couple of sample searches in Sept and it did not show up - but I certainly did not try every day. I think the search I did was at +350 days or thereabouts. The routing shown about for MEL-KEF is totally amazing given both the SQ segment and the number of connections - LM seems to be fiddling around with their online search engine - maybe trying to fix the issue which require the screenshot method to book.

Thx BC and luxury-lizard. I'll keep playing around and see if anything hits. Glad to know there are some options at least as I was getting worried.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

anyone noticed that availability on SQ338/SQ337 (SIN-DUS from July 2016) has suddenly dried up? it was widely available on the flight dates as of last week.

Life miles site down for maintenance at the moment. It says to improve benefits. Hope some of the bugs are fixed during this time and the screen shoot method is no longer needed.

That could be a double edged sword.

Come to think of it... it's been about a year since the glitch. Maybe they do major maintenance once every 12 months? here's hoping.

Hmm. Can only wait and see.

Currently waiting on a call for another booking. My brother foolishly left his phone alone and missed it yesterday.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

If anyone has made a booking with Asiana and would like to pre select their seats I called their Australian sales office on 1300-767-234. The welcome message in Korean and English took longer than the call.

The LM PNR was all the agent needed and I was able to pick my seat to and from ICN.

Always prefer a seat in the middle row so I don't have a neighbour clambouring over me, as well as a bit more overhead locker space.

Here's to hoping they finally give us some business smartium goodness I'd be a happy camper.

I just booked the flights and picked a seat from this link Advance Seat Assignment < Asiana Airlines

It kept saying fail to select the seat but my selected seat is showing on checkmytrip. Not sure if that means it works? A bit annoying as it forced me to close the page each time I selected the seat and got an error message. I had 4 flights so had to do it 4 times.

I tried that and couldn't get it to work

But since you had success I tried again and found the info I'd read was a bit wrong

so it worked with Surname then First name <space> second name and no MR at the end

happy camper now :p

I tried to pick the seat yesterday after a few glasses of red and it didn't work. Nothing happened. I tried again today and found that it was Chrome that blocked the popup on Asiana lol

Gday

In terms of how far in advance you can book a lifemiles redemption my website experience tells me about 353 days. Does this sound about right or does it vary depending on the carrier(s) involved?

Thanks.

Pele.

It depends on the carrier's own booking window - so it's anywhere from 330 to 353 days. This is one of the few great features of LM (unlike AA for example which is 330 days regardless of the operating carrier)

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Here's a left field question- would you rather an MH 333 J day flight or AI 787 J overnight?

Nothing wrong with MH J flight during daytime but just don't expect their lounge to be any good!
