^^
Damn. I literally used all of my lifemiles up doing 2 redemptions on Sunday. I still need about another 20k for a return leg in October - whats your guess for the next 100% buy bonus promo? I reckon about May.

Last time there was a transfer promo you could just transfer back & forward, back & forward...all you need is $30 to get started!

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

I've only got 500 miles left lol.

Is there a processing fee per purchase? I would need to do a lot.

Currently have 150K, transfer 75K to a family member at a cost of $1125 USD they end up with 150K. Then transfer 75K to me for another $1125 and I end up with 225K in my account (75K residual plus 75K plus bonus 75K for transfer) and 75K in family members.
Is my maths correct ? 150K miles for $2250 plus tax

Doesn't the 50K limit stop you from this? ("You can transfer up to 50,000 LifeMiles per calendar year between LifeMiles accounts")

Correct, missed that :(
Need to be to two different accounts.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

What is the advantage of this over the half-priced mileage offered every 6 months or so? During those times you could buy 1000 miles for US$15 or 2000 for US$30.

If you transfer the miles that you bought at US$15/1000 and pay another US$15/1000 to transfer then you also end up with 2000 for US$30.

Is that right or am I missing something?

The fact that's its running now & buy isn't!

It's how many of us got started with LM!

Great, I've got approximately 100k in USDM but being able to book one-ways with LM is the main selling point for me.

Im still deciding whether to come back direct with TG via LM or via HKG on CX with Aadvantage. #firstworldproblems

I'm having a similar problem  QF direct HKG-BNE using AAward (worse availability) or HKG-ICN-SYD on OZ using LM ( longer trip but great availability )
Very impressed with OZ on my first flight with them.

Has anuone actually tried this, seems to contradict the mail. The 50K limit is actually confusing in that it doesn't really say whether the restriction is transfer from or transfer to any one particular account. Would be interested to hear real life experience here.

Maximum transfer miles: 75,000. (from the mail)

I did a reciprocal 50K exchange last night followed by a further 25k just now and it seems to have gone through without a hitch. Time will tell I expect.
