re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

At the end of the day the difference is not that great whatever the bonus. At the 40% bonus that closed recently, a one way AU-Asia would have cost approx USD550 compared to USD600 at the regular 2-4-1. A saving of USD50 one way. For Europe that would equate to around USD100 saving each way.

These bonuses are obviously less, with a reduction in saving over the normal deal. Topping up miles is only going to cost you 1.5c, so if you're getting 1.53c that's about the same, and no need to buy full points now (just the base 40%).

Okay sounds good, thanks for the tip @Mel_Traveller (:

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Funny when I got the current promo from LM today, one account had an offer of 25% bonus and the other 30% bonus. Obviously trying to differentiate their offers now....

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I have forgotten....one of my OZ flights (Icn-Syd) has had a schedule change by 20 minutes...i don't think I need to do anything, do I?...On a more +ve note, there has been an aircraft change from A330 to 777-200LR and the J configuration is now 1:2:1 (Previously 2:2:2). Am I correct in thinking these are the lie flat Quadra Smartium business class seats?

Asiana, I presume?
My mistake kpc, I re-read and saw OZ...
I have a bkk-icn-nkg booking in Feb on OZ but I'm tossing up whether I should change it - the mel-bkk leg is on TG's new A350, hence the dilemma

TG MEL-BKK is not being operated by the a350 February... it's 77W and 772 only. Thai doesn't have a firm start date for the a350 to Australia, although it still shows in the schedule far in advance (Jan and Feb already have the 777 seat maps loaded)

Thanks Mel_T - my original itinerary showed the A350, confirmed when I selected seats on TG's website - I'll pop back in and check again.

It might help you in making your decision you mentioned in #6924. The 77W (showing in bookings as 777-300) services are pretty good with full flats - that operates most of the TG465/466 (a couple of exceptions on a few Sundays in Feb). TG461/462 (listed as as 777-200/300) is the old 772 with angled.

Looks like March has also been loaded and confirmed as 777 services now. April is showing A359 but I expect that to be changed in the next few weeks.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Having booked a J flight on TG, how far out can I select seats? TIA
Any time between now and about 24-48 hours before departure.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Oddly I can't find the link for seat selection under manage your booking hence the question. I might need to look again.

The system changed earlier this year and it's no longer that obvious.
Go to 'Manage My Booking', then 'Service Details', and finally 'Additional Services'.
You should then see the seat selection button.

You have to click Additional Services button. It is normally showing below your seat detail. Some tickets ie those ticketed by United will not see this button and cannot change online. This was fine before. Hope it's not the case with LM. I have a flight next week and can still change.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Just received this email from LifeMiles which seems like a good offer:

The city lifestyle is waiting for you. Buy 1 get 2 LifeMiles is back, don´t hessitate and discover what the big city is offering you.

Buy 1 get 2 LifeMiles now and get additional bonuses up to 30% and add to your (deleted) miles balance

OK, so that's up to 130%? Wasn't a recent offer for 140%?

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I received the same offer as Buzz ... except my bonus offer was 25%. Prefer 140%!

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Anyone having trouble trying to search award flights currently on LM? keeps coming up for me with 'please fill all fields' when all fields have been filled....

Just wanted to have a peak at some routes because of the current 140% bonus. Thinking to buy either a heap or just the standard 40% of award and then top up later.

Also thinking to buy with Qantas Cash card, this work fine you think?? eg. upload equivalent of USD2000 to cash card and then just purchase miles with that USD so no extra conversion fees?
