No way would I try this connection - go the night before stay at airport hotel - relax - TG's current schedule to/from SYD is very unworkable for us Aussies trying to get to Europe. (met an TG pilot by chance while skiing in Zermatt recently and even he said he can't understand the rationale behind many of TG's decisions).

Yes sadly I will have to pay the Adelaide tax again and spend a night in Syd...lol

LM just upped the bonus from 125% to 130% ending June 5th.
Wondering if they will up it even more as it gets closer to ending??

I haven't seen any offers with the blogs yet.

No LM won't but a blogger may have more. Too risky for me though redemptions to & from Asia now very difficult to find.

Looks like availability on TG ex BKK to MEL (and possibly SYD, haven't checked other ports) has effectively dried up from now right thgouh to at least some time in October. There's the odd single day here and there in the calendar, but can be a whole month without anything. Same via United's tool.

No idea what's going on but makes LM somewhat less attractive.

It’s been the case for couple of months now.
Even more worrying is the almost complete lack of F availability to/from SYD. TG is effectively the only link between Australia and the rest of the world when using LM, otherwise it’s impossible to book F all the way. Without TG the value of LM decreases significantly.

I think we were hoping this was something temporary. For a while LM had a few more dates than United was showing (potentially suggesting some sort of UA block), but now it's pretty much mirrored.

Thankfully discounted J on some of the seocnd tier carriers is now pretty much in the same ball park as LM.

Seems like LM shows better availability than UA these days at least on some carriers. ET is one example I’ve noticed as well as BR on some routes. UA still shows more complex and unusual routing options to get from A to B.

This is so disappointing. I’ve been looking for bkk-syd in F for a while now and can’t find anything.

What do you consider as second tier carriers?

Has anyone noticed that LM has secretly removed the ability to book mixed cabin online ? Previously if you book mixed J/F you can get a reduced rate. It won't allow you to do that anymore. Eg. I tried to search ORD-HND-SYD, despite ORD-HND available in NH F and HND-SYD available in J, it won't allow you to book F/J online. It will only show availability if the same cabin is available on both legs. Not sure if SS is possible. But even if they allow screenshots, would they give you reduced rate or full F rate?

From my experience there is no problem to book mixed cabins via screenshots but rate will be calculated according to highest cabin. This is the case for quite a while now, not something recent.

Concur with boomy.

My last mixed class redemption TG F/J was charged at the full F rate (about 6 monts ago). Prior to that there was a discount (came in at about 105K IIRC).

LM now require miles to be in your account before they will do a screenshot booking. I need to cancel an Asiana F booking so wanted my new booking in place before I did. Grh....
