Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

As a data point, Air India does one of two things... they either (a) release additional award seats or (b) add award seats back as award inventory if someone cancels.

I was monitoring a flight DEL-MEL on which the one award seat showing got taken, but about two weeks later has come back (this is for October). It's either a new seat, or the person who originally took it has canceled. Not bad considering their 18J cabin on 787s.

With TG availability being very tight AI is a fairly consistent iption ex Europe atm, but if you have a Euro connecting flight LM will return an 'error'. This should howver be bookable through the call centre as all the flights appear on line.

quick question that I cannot quite confirm the answer..

Can someone please confirm 360 days in advance for LM booking window is still accurate

Thanks

Not sure if it's been mentioned but I noticed LM are offering 4LM/$1 spent at booking.com until May 31st if you book through their link : LifeMiles

Might be worth doing if you have a big trip coming up?

Disappointed to see TG471 cancelled :(
The earliest I can get to Sydney is 820am. Enough time to make TG476 at 10am??

And does anyone know what LM charging for SYD-TYO in F these days?? 65k or 75k?
Can't find an award chart.

Is the flight cancelled permanently or just on your day? 8.20 is fine as long as you are there at 8.20 an no later.

Brilliant thanks guys.

Mel......Do you think I have enough time to make TG-476 at 10am if I land at 8:20am?

What would happen if I missed the flight?

I believe TG471/472 are cancelled permanently.

I used to like those night flights.

Yeah the virgin flight lands at 8:20 so I would have to hope it is not delayed and hope the bags come out quickly . But I'm not sure if I would have to deal with LM or TG if I missed it?

Sorry I thought you meant getting there by car or train. 8.20 is pushing it even on one PNR. Would never risk that. Night before I think.

Separate tickets and this would be something for you to take up with LM. TG would record you as a no-show, but you have up to 12 months to cancel the ticket with LM ($200 cancellation fee, points and taxes returned to you). TG wouldn’t rebook you on the next service.

No way would I try this connection - go the night before stay at airport hotel - relax - TG's current schedule to/from SYD is very unworkable for us Aussies trying to get to Europe. (met an TG pilot by chance while skiing in Zermatt recently and even he said he can't understand the rationale behind many of TG's decisions).

Anyone know of any SQ intra Asia routes that lifemiles offers premium cabins in? (A la sq288 that sometimes shows up)

Thanks!

For a while I think DEL, BOM and possibly HKG were options. Don’t know if they’re still available or not. I think the DEL or BOM flight was also available in first/suites. You could also check the close-in F for CGK (and possibly MNL too?)
