Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I have seen South african available in business class JNB-PER. And this was for december 21 last year (looking about three months in advance). So it is available, Ethiopian is an ok carrier. You might need to construct a ticket syd/mel to bkk and then on the addis. You’d need to try a screenshot for that.

Start with united’s tool to find availability and routings, then try and replicate it on lifemiles. If you can only find individual sectors, try screenshots.
I've seen SIN-JNB and return flying SQ in J with LM - also you sometimes/rarely see SYD/CBR-SIN flying SQ in J with LM but you definitely see PER-SIN flying SQ in J with LM - I would keep searching. Also you can definitely get PER-JNB with SA using LM. Just a few more combos for your search. Another option is Air China also fly to JNB from PEK (?) so you could look at this option (searching by sector).

After reading the first sentence of that email I thought...oh no, there goes my miles. However my blood pressure returned to normal when I finished reading.

No enhancements at all

Well they do say they expect it to get stronger(more profit for us) and better(enhanced).
See easy to translate.

Emails like that make me even more worried.
They are cooking something behind the scenes.
All the sales this year make me worry of further devaluation.

I admit I don't share your concern (touch wood).

There have been questions on quite a few of the major blogs with people concerned that LM is in danger. This is a timely communication from LM in response to that. I thought it was a good job.

does the points increased from KUL/SIN to Australia to 50k already ? I remembered its 50k the other way round but 40k from KUL/SIN or am i wrong ?

There's an approximate 10K loading for departures from Australia. The return should be standard. So 50 out and 40 back.

im getting 50k for back (KUL/SIN/BKK to Australia) am i doing it wrong ?

Dunno. Might need some examples to be able to replicate the issue.

I just searched fro BKK-MEL - almost no availability, but 10 July is available no TG for 40K one way in business.

I tried searching ex KUL to MEL but there isn't any immediate availability to double check the pricing.

What days did you find?

Edited... oh! I see what you mean. Just looked for SIN-SYD (10 July) and a flight with TG came up via BKK, but they want 64K one way... 14200 SIN-BKK and 48800 for the BKK-SYD.

This is obviously a glitch of some sort. I dunno how much traction this will get on the blogs given the close-in ticketing availability these days.

Seems like there is a double issue - charging by sector AND pricing at 50K if in combination with another sector.

Unfortuantely there's more... while DEL-MEL (13 Oct) prices correctly as a non-stop in J (57K), if you combine AI/TG via BKK the the price bears little correlation with the award chart... Y/Y comes in at 44500 (should be 35K) and J/Y is 48K, with LM charging 31K for the economy sector BKK-SYD (so adding the 10K if there's a connecting sector).

hope i didnt open another can of worms..couldnt get any availability in J for KUL/SIN/BKK to Australia.. in mid April.. only economy ..:-(
