re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

ive booked a dozen flights and never had an issue... today i tried to book a ticket for my father... typically after telling him how good the program was, it failed at the last minute... credit card has been debited, points taken from account... checkmytrip shows the TG PNR but still isnt showing eticket number nor did i get the usual confirmation email from Avianca...

spewing.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

I wonder if it would be worth flying over from Perth to try F from SYD-BKK and then F BKK-??? Or just tkae J PER-BKK for the first leg... Either way i should try F before USDM bites the big one and sounds like TG is the most likely airline to do it on... Maybe OZ perhaps as well??

You did not mention that in you other post, however given cash and points are deducted (or preauthorised), I suspect it should be ok.

i did say it failed at the last minute.... but i hope you're right... i went back into the lifemiles account and looked at the receipts section and its showing the transaction... now that TG have Amadeus, it's showing on their website under "check booking"... so ill just sit tight for the eticket over night (previous bookings shown up in about 25 minutes)

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

thankfully you can find the booking!

there used to be a glitch until quite recently where the odd booking would get 'lost' (fail to register) in between the payment page and confirmation page.

the PNR was generated, but only flashed onto the screen briefly before being lost. and there was little apparently LM could do about it (checking under the pax name and flight would yield nothing).

so it seems that's been fixed. (if it hasn't, the insurance is to have a pen at the ready and write the number down super quickly before it disappears!!)

FWIW, my flight that I booked 24hrs ago has not been ticketed it seems.

I received confirmation email from Lifemiles then another email with all the details in a very basic email.

I can view the trip on CheckMyTrip however when I check it on Singapore website it asks me to confirm the booking.

Guys the tickets often can take a few days to be issued

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Booked this week.

SYD - BKK TG J
BKK - LHR BR J

CDG - SYD via PEK CA J

Booked it in 3 legs as US couldnt see 2 of the legs I was after, I thought that was a little strange as United.com showed availability as did LM. I even HUACA a few times when usually I cant be bothered. I also didnt want to risk losing availability over the Xmas period.

We also wanted a stopover and if possible avoid APD hence the open jaw. Departing from CDG & saving on APD made up for the extra cost of booking with LM

I really wanted to fly into Europe on Asiana in F but just couldnt make it work. Next time maybe as that's still on my to do list.

Have Ben able to select seats on SQ website as of late last night so looks like it's all good. Couldn't do this when first booked.

Also looks like Mel-sin is on 77W!

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

I think my record is about 48 hours...also involving SQ and all was well in the end.

there are no apparent restrictions on SQ premium business class through LM. you can book a380 etc. (and indeed LH F 14 days in).

for example all five daily sq flights SIN-PVG are available through LM... including the two 77W services.

as long as you have confirmed directly with SQ that there are ticket numbers in the booking then all will be good. selecting seats is no guarantee of a ticketed booking.

Is this SQ218? If so, yes, it's bookable through LMs and yes it's a 77W - I did this flight 2 weeks ago. Absolutely no problems with the booking or flight at all - a very odd time to board a flight (seeing older people desperately trying to stay awake in the lounge until 1am was amusing) but extremely comfortable - the seat is the same as the A380 I believe. Go for Row 11 if you can get it - the front J cabin is very nice.

I slept the entire flight and was woken on descent (as did most people). F was completely empty, J was rather full.

SQ crew are unbeatable.

Yep SQ218, one of my favourites even in Y. So will be nice to go J. All window seats were taken so have selected 11F on the Aisle but I should confirm with SQ.

Just ask to see if a number is against the booking, yes?

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A

Put your pnr in classic.checkmytrip.com and see if their are any eticket document numbers there. Lifemiles/avianca issued tickets start with 202
