re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Yeah, I'd been told that, but most PER-Japan flights even 3-4 years ago had connections over 8 hours. Anyway, as you say it's more common now.
It used to be nigh on impossible to book a connection >8hr. Over the last couple of years there seem to be more and more exceptions.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Eventually heard back from Support - they said that ports missing from the website are because of their partners not allowing them. Oh well :)

Anyone know if you can do a call centre booking or something with Lifemiles if the destination port doesn't show up on their online menu? I'm trying to find a flight SIN-CBR (I can see it through Krisflyer, Velocity etc) and CBR doesn't show up on their menu.
Thanks!

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

I bought some miles on Sunday as I needed more for a booking next year. Today I got an invitation for a 3 for 1 for up to 5000 more miles. It gave me an extra 15,000 for just over 15c/point, so I jumped, as it is nearly 5c better than the half points/half cash awards.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Can u post a URL of the offer?
Assuming there is a special webpage.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

You don't need to show no airline/seats or options, you just show that there should be your flight option visible, but it isn't. That's normally enough. 10 hours is fine, no idea where the 8 hour thing came from but it's not a hard and fast written rule.

Agree with this - Have booked flights with a > 8 hour layover and no issues using the screenshot method.

Thanks for the responses. I think I might just do CX F + J via Alaska miles instead. Life Miles is just too much of an unknown commodity - I'll give them a go when its a more guaranteed routing.

I got the same offer today after buying miles on the weekend, 1.1c per mile is pretty awesome, but it is only 15000 miles and I am torn as it seems like a sneaky trick to get another $165 out of me...

101,000 - 200,000 2x1 +25%

Have never purchased before, will look into whether this is worthwhile. No major travel plans at this stage but the missus has some conferences in Europe next year that she's lining up.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

Is it a target URL for the 140%?

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

OMAAT is now running a blog promo for 140% bonus. Good for those who got less than 40% bonus in the latest round of offers from LM

There's also a separate post from lucky describing the 200% bonus for another 5000miles purchase after buying during this promo

Do we know how many miles you have to buy first up to then get the 5000 miles additional promo with the 200% bonus?

Word around the campfire was 15,000 pre-bonus.

re: Avianca "Lifemiles" - Questions and Discussion

has anyone run the numbers on the current offers out there?
i've got it as
1.38c LM (40%)
1.92c AA (40% (discount))
2.11c Alaska (40%)
2.51c United (50%)

(all in USD and post taxes, at the highest offer level)

hoping someone might be able to confirm if they are coming up with similar?

the blogs have been talking about how there are targeted offers of 135% bonus for some people - including those who have previously purchased and also those holding their co branded credit cards.

i'm waiting for another one of those blog promos to hopefully bring it to 145%
140% here if interested http://www.lifemilespromo.com/eng/index.html
