Another LM booking success:-

YVR-ICN(AC)-SYD(OZ) and
YVR-HND-SYD(NH)

Would have liked 2 seats on the same flights but alas only 1 seat released to LM by OZ and NH on SYD route. Hopefully I can change the one via ICN to NH close in (ie cancel and re-book).

Account(s) almost down to zero - will keep it that way - LM program just too much trouble (combined with lack of availability on *A partners). I could weaken on next promo.

I’m curious. Have you stock piled LM points when they have bonus offers and then booked when you needed? Or do you only buy when you have already found the flights.

Cannot speak for luxury-lizard but I would be surprised if anyone bought LM after finding flights @ $33USD per 1000.... the attraction to LM is the fact that you can purchase during promo's , at less than half that rate... as with everything, there is a risk in buying and hoping to find the flights you need..

Well that is also great.. if you are ready to purchase at promo time and can find the flights during the promo.. all the better !

Yes - had a stockpile from previous promos - did't get used as quickly as planned ... new prefer to just buy when needed but promos need to line up with availability.

You can - but it's more like 42% of the miles in order to purchase the rest for the 'sale' price of 1.5c each. If you use less than around 42% the price of the last few thousand miles goes up considerably - even higher than 3.3c each (which is the normal selling price).

While I don't think it's a great idea to have masses of excess points I do think it's worth having a few more than I actually need, this is one example, the other is where unexpected great deals suddenly pop up.

While we're at it...

With the new site it seems connecting flights intra-Europe are no longer offered in business class, only economy (despite business being available stand-alone). And TG connections are consitently showing... while there's availability VIE/FRA/CPH to BKK, the connecting flight to MEL/SYD (leaving just 90 mins later, so well within the 8 hour cut-off) aren't showing as a through fare.

Sometimes the connections show, but more often than not they aren't ATM.

Dunno if this is part of the larger problem of start alliance partners not being able to see TG availability, or whether TG is employing married segments.

Depends what the bonus is... if it's a flat 10% extra (as in the past) that should apply to whatever the member was originally offered. So if OMAAT got 125% that should increase their offer to 135%. For those of us who started on 135% that should, in theory, boost it to 145%. Would need to see details of the bonus when it comes out.

Does anyone know what's the usual time frame for screenshot booking now? I haven't done one for > a year. It used to be overnight but I've heard that it takes longer now.

I've send a SS request on Wed afternoon, got a reply from Tattiana saying it's forwarded to special department and haven't heard since.....

I'm waiting too! Got a reply within an hour saying it had been forwarded. Will wait to see how long it takes. Unfortunately I just found a better routing and don't know whether to cancel my exisiting (however one does that) or just suck it up.
