Seems as somewhat predicted, the Americas are the most affected. The bloggers may not be happy about this.
Rumours also have it that some (or all) Lufthansa F inventory is being blocked. I'm sure someone can prove or disprove that fairly quickly.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, the charts now show one way prices versus previously which were return prices?
So to clarify this means MEL - SIN-CAN in J is actually going to be cheaper?
Have done approx 6 bookings so.far this year so this would be great!
Not too draconian or in some cases rather good really!Based on the great info here regarding the "not too draconian" changes, I have bought another 50K lifemiles (maximum allowed) this am through "sharing"
Is Australia regarded as "Others" on these charts? I couldn't find South Pacific or Australia on the charts.
I signed up for Avianca awhile ago, in the hope that it might help me get some biz class travel at a better price than QF etc. I have not got any points there yet. Maybe I should look at buying some while the $US is getting a good exchange rate at the moment!
I also joined Agean some time ago on the strength of an Age/SMH article which indicated it would be a good way to get a better class of travel. In two minds now about which program to concentrate on.

I TBH whatever change AV made to the affected destination didn't really help it to avoid breaching cabotage; it only made the price less attractive. Only a change in its booking engine would help it avoid a breach.
There are other routes, even closer to home (i.e. AFF's home) where routes breaching cabotage have been eliminated. In the past I have booked MEL-SIN-PER and these are no longer available. Of course when I booked it I did respect cabotage and saved the airline breaching such laws by graciously offering to end my journey in SIN.
I wanted to book that route, but figured SQ would refuse travel when you got to the airport, even if you said you would get off in SIN. Did it go ahead with no issues?
