the list makes no sense whatsoever. i live in spain. location palma which is the 3rd largest airport here after MAD and BCN yet its not in the list, yet lowly menorca is?! go figure.

yeh seems so weird....i see some departure points ie asturias...but cant seem to start at alicante....do you know how to get around it?

ring them.hopefully over the phone they may provide you with more and better options. my guess is that they cant possibly list all points thus ......thus i dont know their logic for the ones they do list!

well seeing as we can type in alicante into arrival city...might be good to be able to do that as departure point too..
thanks will try to ring them from hoem

I have a similar issue, I am looking to fly from Santiago de Compostella (SCQ) to Palma de Mallorca (PMI) on airberlin. I can catch all manner to connecting flights through PMI, (such as SCQ-PMI-BCN) with better availability and taxes than Iberia, but cannot book a SCQ-PMI direct.

Obviously it is on their system somewhere, but unavailable online, so is there any way of getting the $35/3500 points telephone assistance fee waived? Otherwise it may prove the same cost points wise just to book SCQ-PMI-BCN and discard the last segment.

Is the fee $35/3500 (for domestic) or $60/6000 (for international)? Last month we were looking at one way on BA Faro (Portugal)-London, availability was there as it was coming up as part of a return booking ex LGW. But Faro isn't listed as an origin (only destination), therefore an assistance fee would be required. In the end, accounting for fuel surcharges and the assistance fees, Easyjet probably was cheaper so went with that instead.

You are right, looked it up and the international fee is now $60/6000. That actually makes it cheaper for me to book SCQ-PMI-BCN (14,000 + 12GBP) and throwaway the PMI-BCN portion; surely something that is not in the interests of QF or AB.

Having just waded through the murk that is the RENFE website (when there is website out there for no other purpose then giving step-by-step instructiosn to use the RENFE website - you know its dire!), I am quiet frustrated with most Spanish booking websites. In fact it got to the point with RENFE where the (brand new, hours old) early bird specials which they where advertising where not able to be booked through them but instead we decide to fork out the $5 each booking fee to go via the much less furstrating EuroRail website!

And I too was getting the run around with alot of my internal Spanish flights (the same as Former Hall in most likely having to disregard a final flight to get to my real destination directly). In fact my biggest headache ended up being my MAD-BER flight where the cheapest I could get was AB via Palma (why direct flights end up being $70 more - Lord only knows). Heck in the end there I decided to train it as it was half the price all up (bed included) and I figured I'd get more experience and enjoyment going through the French country side then having to argue at Spanish checking agents at Airports!

I love Spain seriously - If I can figure away to live their I would - but I was rather slit my wrists then fly IB ever again. And most of their booking websites are all levels of horrible.
