Awarded Platinum before achieving status credits!

i believe if you qualify then you get to keep it but if you do not, then sure ask and see what may come but do not expect it to happen. How QF decide to renew one's status when it is below the level is up to them. Would I be disappointed if they dropped me to Gold after 5 years as WP ( i have re-qualified again with 5 months to spare so technically have at least another 17 months of WP) sure but it would be understandable. I just hope I never have to worry about asking to retain it, whilst I am in my current job that will never be an issue.

If you do not have enough status credits for Platinum and you were going to be comped Platinum status then I would expect this to happen ~2 months before reassessment date.

Concur.

In 2007 I earned the necessary 1200 SC's (and more) within 8 days of my new "year".

My status was not updated for the additionAL year until ~7 weeks before that year "expired".

I checked my QFF account the other day and my reassessment date has been changed to 31 May 2010. It would appear that I have been comped Platinum status ~8 weeks before my reassessment date and only 25 SCs short.

I am not impressed as I will easily reach Platinum before the end of May, in fact I will be Platinum next week, and I don't want Qantas to think that they have comped me Platinum status. I would like to have that get out of jail card up my sleeve for when I actually may need it some day....

I was comp'd to PS for my next membership year which starts in June.

My forward bookings had me pulling up 45SC short, however a nicely worded email to QF was enough to receive some love back.

They called and mentioned that due to 3 years of being a PS, they were happy to do this as a "one-off".

I got comped for another year of WP when I was still 10SCs short of 1200 - but then again, I went on to get another 300SCs or so before the end of my membership year, so that wasn't really much of a comp, I guess. It was a slightly earlier renewal than expected.
