[TD="class: alt1, bgcolor: #FFFFFF"]BA confirmed in 2006 the new Club World seat shall not be fitted to its fleet of long haul 767-336 aircraft. The long haul 767s shall continue to fly with the first generation flat bed seats (NCW 1.3) until retirement comes. The Rockwell Collins (TES) inflight entertainment system has at least been upgraded and now supports AVOD capabilities throughout the fleet.

Thought you were talking about 747's, first mention I've seen of 767's.

But yes overall BA club Europe is a little bit poor and not worth the extra money, though most of my flights in the 4 years I lived in London was in Club Europe as the company paid. It used to be worse in Club Europe as Club had 2x3 seating, this is why the OP noticed the DEF seats were different. The A and C seats would wind into the B seat, but the DEF seats didn't as often the middle seat was occupied.

Please! You cannot compare the Domestic QF and the BA CE Product! Just look at the distances (for a 1,5h Flight I really do not need an IFE) or the competitors.

Compared to Lufthansa (which is my personal competitor on the MUC-LHR Route) I always opt for BA CA:
It is cheaper, BA offers real seats (and not the new LH camping chairs).
I am glad that BA did not install those space saver seats (where you get a back massage from the knees of the person sitting behind you).
Catering is slightly better on LH (but that is the only point for LH).
BA has the better lounges (BA Lounge in MUC is similar to the SEN Lounge, BA Lounges in LHR are much better than the BMI/*A Lounges).

I like the small price for the upgrade: Good SCs for a small dime, all amenities (Lounge, Fast Track, Luggage, Free seat next to you) even without a status!

Yes I like BAs CE! QF Domestic C is a different product.

CAI and TLV are operated by 744s and offer Club World and First, not Club Europe. What you need to watch out for is the dreaded old CLub World with the old fan that BA still fly to JED.

Just a reason to fly BA - even connecting. Lufthansa just changed to Euro-Caming-Chair Airbusses on the CAI Routes...

Sorry but Qantas domestic and BA Europe are very comparable. If you take a very close look at Europe you would see it is about the same size as Australia, so the distances and routes flown are very similar. The only big differences are the volume of flights, with Europe clearly more densely populated and the fact that BA has a hub network but Qantas a meshed network. Sure BA has some flights that are short, under 1 hour, but so too does Qantas (and Virgin). BA also has some European flights that are as long as Sydney-Perth, Moscow, Athens etc.

Anyway when it comes to IFE if you read anything I have ever said about it in Australia, I am of the opinion that we in Australia are rather spoilt and what we have is probably verging on being over the top for 1, 2, 3 or 4 hours flights. By the same token though I reckon the lack of IFE on BA is pretty poor. Some audio and even the news subtitled on the screens that most a/c have wouldn't go astray.

Seating wise BA club Europe is very poor considering it is sold as a premium product at a premium price. The seating is more or less the same if you are in economy or business. Other European airlines have far better seating, Iberia for example which is much better suited to a business class product.

Nothing exceptionally special about Club Europe in my opinion. However recently booked a flight from Munich to LHR. Quotes were about EUR80 for economy and EUR1,000 for business. Needless to say I booked economy. Once done the option to upgarde to Club was offered for EUR80 which I gladly took.

I'm sure that'll send MS a whole load of * Alliance business. Who would have thought?!

Dusting off an old thread....

I'd appreciate any recent experiences with BA Club Europe on a B734 - I have an LGW-BOD flight as the last flight (separate PNR) on the outbound journey of my JASA later this year (booked before it was a MASA;)). I booked as a cheap Euro Traveller (GBP 10 + taxes), and have just taken a GBP69 upgrade offer. My motivation was mostly for the extra 30 SCs, and I am sure my low expectations (compared to QANTAS J) will be met. But that doesn't mean not getting the best possible seat!!

I have selected 1F on a B734. There seems to be experience that the right hand side is more "convertible" than the left; also are the bulkheads better or worse than a regular seat for legroom. Yes - I know it is only a 1h30 flight, but its all about the best possible experience. Any recent BA flyers with any comments?

Thanks
Aus ATC

Take about 4 CE flights a year in a combination of aircraft and usually end up in 1F or A. As you say it is a shortish flight and usually after a trip from OZ I don't really care as long as I get to my destination in 1 piece :-)

Doesn't matter where you sit.......you'll be sitting on that disgusting blue leather;)

I flew CE 3 years ago, so know about the seats themselves. As I said, I have set low expectations to avoid disappointment. After 24 hours on QF9, every inch of extra legroom will be appreciated!! The final indignity (after BA) will be 2 hours on a regional TER French train to my ultimate destination.

I know I've been on a 734... But can't remember what is unremarkable about it. Either way CE isn't anything special. The seats are roughly the same and depending on the flight departure time meal could range from a decent breakfast to scones and clotted cream.
PS. I normally refer to their onboard champers (pommery) as battery acid.
