Agree, LATAM denied my status match from United because the company they work with that does the status match wanted to see my history with United even though the system approved of the membership card and hence was able to be asked to submit my aus id verification which could only be done if they have NO problems with my membership status. After all is done, customer support gave me a hard time and went back to the initial review (the first stage of verifying the membership details) kept asking me to show the miles history contradicting their rules of what they say on the website. So don't take anything they mention at face value can make up their own rules even their website mentions no such thing as flight history. And having determined I only took 3,000 miles with United (after matching to United from another airline which platinum status expired). "Weird" company glad I didn't get status matched otherwise I would have been taking the SYD AKL route to score a J upgrade. Would have been a once in a lifetime flight though since everyone survived
