I was able to access the Cathay lounge at BKK last week, no questions asked. This might be another alternative to the CIP lounge?

As a QF Plat/Gold flying QF presumably (that's oneworld status benefits)

Different answer if just Qantas Club, or flying JQ/3K.

Hi all, after any advice. I am in Bangkok flew in with JQ J but didn't buy max as I'm a QC member. The QF website now states only QC member has access to CIP if flying on QF number. I am also only a silver FF so presumably no access to the CX lounge either. Thanks in advance.

I suspect unfortunately you are out of luck... Best chance is trying to convince JQ to give you a pass at check-in saying when you booked it you had access

Thanks moa999. Unfortunately I think you're right. Just frustrating as I would have booked a max fare if I knew.

I was in BKK airport a few days ago. The Qantas logo was clearly displayed at the Louis' Tavern lounge in concourse G.

I don't know about the First class lounge but I have been in this lounge before and if I was a Gold status/Qantas club member then I would be extremely disappointed at what is on offer. Very basic lounge.

I notice that this was first place in the 'Priority Pass Airport Lounge of the Year Awards 2015.' Not sure how many of these lounges you have been to. But I've never been to one that's better than average.

My post about the Bangkok Louis Tavern Priority Pass lounge - winning 'first place' over other Priority Pass lounges - was meant to be tongue in cheek. Never mind.

If you're intending to use the EK lounge, make sure you have your ticket number to hand.
They're now refusing entry without that bit of info.

Always used to be, but I was there on Sunday and they insisted on the ticket number too.
Said it was needed for payment by QF.
Interesting indeed. Is the ticket number on the Qantas itinerary? Otherwise I don't carry ticket numbers with me. The ticket number would be in my emails somewhere but what a waste of time.

As I've noted previously the last time I cam through BKK I went to enter the EK lounge and they wouldn't let me in until they got my ticket number. Because I didn't have it on hand they rang the Qantas lounge and got it from them.

Once they determined it was an 081 ticket I was welcomed. I was told if it wasn't a Qantas issued ticket then I wouldn't be permitted entry.

waste of time... I wholly agree.
How does it come to be on the onus of the pax to dig out a ticket number which they may not have easy access to?

Surely the responsibility rests with the airline or lounge staff on the day to pull up the booking from the pax boarding pass and PNR to find the ticket number so that the billing process can be triggered?
Bit rich demanding a full ticket number from the pax in the days of e-ticketing and paperless travel.
Nonsense I say, pure nonsense.
