Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

Got an email from announcing the arrival of my 10k bonus. The bonus that posted weeks ago.... Bit slow out west? :p

I think I may have worked out how to get the 'greater than 50' transactions done ...

Starting with a 'balanced' account ( Eg. no 'pending authorisations' ), don't use the card until the very latest in the day as possible.

For Coles / Woolies, where you can use a Self-Service machine, this might be around 9:30pm ( just before they start shutting down those machines ( time varies store-to-store ).

Make your 'limit' of transactions. Will most likely be the '50' ( per card account ).

Do another 50 as 'early' as possible the next day ( after midnight ).

I was doing mine at about 7-7:30am after Night Shift.

This will create a 'two day' backlogue of pending authorisations.

Keep your 'two day cycle' close together again. That is, as close to midnight, followed by the earliest possible after midnight.

If this happens from Friday to Monday, I think this is how the BW system becomes 'overloaded' and greater than 50 transactions per day can be achieved.

Got my first 11 pages statement from 18 nov till 4 dec. 0 points on transactions. Is it usual for the 1st statement?

Yes. Wait til the end of 'your' month.
You may get several '0' points Statements before you actually see the points on the Monthly Statement.

Well, my and partner's accounts were opened on different dates.
We receive our e-Statements on different dates ( even though the same transactions are made on the same days ).
Our QFF points post on different days as well.
Thus, my experience = not all accounts post Statements and points on the same day.
( the same as not everyone is able to use their cards for more than 50 transactions per day ... )

*** Just checked my and partner's Statements.
Mine are dated on the 1st. but partner's are dated the 4th. of the month ( but yes, the POINTS Statement does include the 1st. of month )

I did what I mentioned above ...

( Made transactions at Coles late on Friday night, then early Sat morning )

Both my cards are only doing 50 each.

Still shows 'pending authorisation' online, but no going over the 50 each card.

Will see what happens tomorrow, but it looks like BW have caught up with me - only 50 per day !

Occasionally have issues with telstra, but keep on keeping on (could be 1000 of us from here are slowing or "breaking" the system! )

I still get OUR 200 payments done each day, usually upto 55 transactions (yes, I sometimes watch and count each approved payment!) per card.

I am having issues with Telstra if I try to pay with multiple cards at once but it seems to still be working if I am only running with a single card

I do each card individually until the daily limit is complete (50 minimum).

Then go down the list.

Hmm, I'm still getting this error (both cards):

Sorry, there was a connectivity issue processing your request and we're not able to confirm the payment made. Please check your email for a payment confirmation or check your bank statement to see if your payment has been processed. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Telstra seems to be coming up with an error for multiple transactions of the same amount, eg. refresh method is not working. If you try to manually enter an amount you have paid in the last 24 hours it wont work eg 1c twice. But it seems to be working manually for different amounts eg, 2c then 3c then 4c etc etc.
Glitch for today or have they figured it out?

I had a message on the screen at Big W "Sending Wow advice" after which one of my cards came back declined (definitely enough funds to meet the payment of a few cents) I just used the other card. Today I had a similar message when using that card for multiple payments. I just pulled out the other card when I got the screen message. I think they may have flagged certain cards.....
