Bit of a funny one: who would take the service from DPS to CBR?

Now I know that obviously Aussies who go for their holiday or junket to DPS have to return, so of course they would be on these services. I suppose it also gives another option for return if the price is right after matching it with another service from CBR.

But how many bona fide DPS-based or perhaps anywhere else in Batik's Asia network want to visit CBR?

There are about 2,000 Indonesians living in Canberra, Queanbeyan and Cooma. Some are diplomats and students. Others are family members and those who married Australians.

DPS is actually more convenient than CGK, for people of Eastern Indonesia and Timor Leste.
 
Batik prevìously attempted SYD and MEL to DPS as a direct "value carrier" rival to Virgin. They ultimately failed and somewhat were only able to make PER-DPS work where they are the only carrier with recliner J.
SYD/MEL are still operating. I don't think it's right to say they have failed.

Batik Indonesia pulled the standalone DPS-MEL/SYD flights, while the Batik Malaysia one-stop services to KUL remain.
Also to add Batik Air Indonesia operated those DPS-SYD/MEL services as 2-class service, which ultimately didn't work out for them.

All of Batik Indonesia's planes have business class seats though, so the 2-class service was unavoidable. Same goes for their Perth flights. They don't have a choice but to send J-equipped aircraft – it's all they've got!

I think the bigger issue – shoddy branding and inconsistent service aside – is that the Batik Indonesia flights to MEL & SYD were timed to depart within an hour of the Batik Malaysia flights. They were cannibalising themselves.
 
My stepdaughter arrived back in Canberra from Bali two days late as Batik Air cancelled her flight and transferred her to a flight two days later.

My SIL is due to arrive next week in Canberra on a Batik Air flight. He flew SYD to KUL to DPS.

No compo.

They told her after cancelling her flight, that she could change her flight to a later flight free of charge!

She described the Batik Airways flights of CBR to DPS return, as no frills flights.

She would fly with them again.
 
A friend had a Facebook whinge on this one, apparently they are tweaking the schedule in the new future and he had his booking moved by 3 days. Apparently they are very hard to deal with, ie the language barrier issue being the main problem, and some average booking platforms.

The loads on Expert Flyer are not that flash, most flights only 20-40 people.
 
Batik Air have reduced the frequency of flights to CBR from three times a week to twice a week.

The Wednesday service has been cancelled.
 
I can’t see any flights since late last week and it appears they have now axed all flights moving forward.

So yeah, it’s over I guess. I must have missed it as they don’t appear to be operating MEL or ADL direct to KUL either which I recall they had been operating.
