Wow what a hassle, I will churn and burn this one and then never again (unless I have no other option, lol)

Applied 08-10 got through the process and got conditionally approved, heard nothing for a week so called them and was told it would take 5 to 10 business days, called 2 weeks later and was told due to the high demand from the 80k promo it would take a little longer. Two days later I get a call saying they can't use my investment property income as I privately rent it out to a family member (this has never been an issue before) and also a please explain as to why I had a few cc applications (we all know why), after a quick explanation, I was told I would have to cancel my latest card (luckily I had the sign-up points already) and after such they would approve me.

So cancelled my current cc and was awaiting the cancellation letter, then received a txt from Bendigo stating they would cancel my application if I do not produce the documents in three days, I rang them and "kindly" explained that they were able to take longer and I needed more time also, they gave me another week (which I didn't need).

Finally got my card today, this has been the longest application ever at one month and one day, so certainly not for the faint hearted, let's hope they are speedy at giving me my points as I'll get the minimum spend over and done with this weekend.

God what a process! Over a month later I get a call pulling apart every credit enquiry for the last 7 years. Then we go into complex complications about my home loan. They seem perplexed as to why my homeloan balance is only $50k. Then they want evidence of my pay from one of the countries biggest companies going into my bank account (just in case I've forged a computer generated payslip I guess). Oh and better send us your home loan statements. Oh and every credit card statement.

Far too much work for a pissy little $4000 credit card! My home loan was easier than this.

Don't count on it. I met the minimum spend in the first week (6 weeks ago now) and I'm battling just to get the spend points. I'm no Nostradamus but I'm guessing the bonus points will be a hard slog.

I stand corrected. Bonus points arrived today with statement 2, along with all the missing points. And all this in only 6 weeks. Quite impressed by Bendigo Bank but will still cancel with relish after all the grief they've given to others.

My spend points are coming through more regularly than any other Qantas earning credit I have ever had. No bonus points as yet but expecting those on the next statement (no. 2).

After sending in about half of their stupid list of documents, I got a random text this afternoon with an internet banking password. Guess they approved it.

How long did it take to receive the card after the approval email? My rego is due and it’s a good one to spend on a visa.

At last (been at provisional since 10/10):
"Congratulations! Your Bendigo Bank Qantas Platinum Mastercard® credit card application has been successful"
Approved 6/11/18 (as above)
Received card 16/11/18.

EDIT: easy process to activate over the phone and set up pin, ebanking ID. All-in-all a very painless albeit slow process (self-employed and only sent them last tax assessment during sign up with no follow up by them).

Now to spend $2500 - shouldn't take more than 24 hours :)!

Thanks.... that's a little slow! I might need to save the Bendigo for some other bills.

As an interesting reference, I got a text at about midday Wednesday from Amex querying if I'd just charged 8GBP with Uber to my card. Called, they said it looked like some scam transactions, and they reissued the card. It arrived on Thursday morning.

5/9/2018 - Applied for card
7/9/2018 - Approved for card
14/9/2018 - Received card
Somewhere between 31/10/2018 - 6/11/2018 - Met required spend
13/11/2018 - QF Bonus points credited

Just received my 80000 bonus points for this card so haven’t had any issues so far.
I just hope they make it easy for me to cancel it.

Ultimatley, the points came through quickly. Card easily closed via their secure messaging service. They tried to call, but never followed up

did anyone manage to close this account online? I cant see where to do it. And i thought all credit card providers needed to provide this option from 1 January.

I tried to cancel by sending a secure message through online banking but they would only let me cancel it at the branch. Luckily I have a new branch that opened up down the road so wasn’t too much of a hassle. Wasn’t too painful either doing it in person. Didn’t even get asked why I wanted to cancel.

good to know but arent they meant to offer the ability to close online? Every other card provider i have dealt with this year (Westpac, st george, amex, nab, citi) have complied with the new 1 january law.

They are required to offer the option. Likely it's there but hidden from being easily found. I found the same situation with a Macquarie card recently.
