we always flew with our kids in either J or F, even though it was a stretch at times financially - we dropped down to J after a bit as 5 fares in F was just too much. It makes a gigantic difference to the comfort on the flight especially when they are young. I remember one flight where we had a long bus trip to the airport in the Crimea, then a flight to Istanbul and then to London and finally got on the plane to Singapore. I had the kids tucked in bed and asleep about 15 minutes after the plane took off, instead of having fractious children probably screaming from exhaustion. We did it as much for our quality of life as theirs. Of course once they had to pay for themselves, they flew economySome people sure have a lot of money to spend on their kids flights. I don't think I'd ever consider paying for kids to fly PE let alone J or F. That mother must be rich.
The only time I flew anything other than economy as a kid was for a domestic flight where my parents booked a direct flight and QANTAS cancelled the direct flight and rebooked us onto an indirect flight. They bumped us up to Business for one of the legs. We were seated in the nose section on a 747, I believe.
Those are some super fortunate kids.So far so good...excluding the mother with 4 kids each with their own F suite. It’s rather strange seeing a 5yo in their own F seat using their colouring book!

I'd take 4A over the K side.Appreciate views for a possible flight in F. Seats 1A, 2A, 3A and 2K taken. Rest of cabin empty. Less than a week out, and loads are still F9 A9.
Go for 4A for privacy, or take a punt that the right hand side remains fairly light and go for 1K (or 2K if it opens up)?
Cheers.
Thx. I assumed this would be the consensus AFF view, which I should follow!I'd take 4A over the K side.
no it doesn’t - F class passengers shouldn’t be having to even consider things like this. If they can’t guarantee your choice then they should allow pre ordering - it is just ridiculous not to! SQ have had book the cook for ages in F.Thx. I assumed this would be the consensus AFF view, which I should follow!
My only hesitation is will row 4 jeopardise food selection? Hopefully as a P1 I will not be disappointed - but given how average the menus of late appear to have been, and the nonsensical inability to pre-select food in F, this would seriously annoy me if denied choice of food or any special dish
And yes, I know how childish this sounds!
Couldn’t agree more. But unless QF radically overhauls F in the next week, it’s the reality.no it doesn’t - F class passengers shouldn’t be having to even consider things like this. Thanks. Useful info. I guess upgrade are common (me included) although the outward journey is a day flight and a couple of weeks ago I was the only upgrade request. Travelling solo so prefer the privacy of a solo seat, otherwise I’d be happy in J. Plus have more points than I can use.My recent flight was 9s across the board... just three of us in the cabin until 2 or 3 days prior... then the upgrades started. We went out 14/14.
Food? yeah. If you don’t get your choice you aren’t missing much unfortunately Although given the commonality the the J class menu it should be ok supply wise.
Surprisingly the K side of the full cabin was served faster than the A side. Go figure.

Why don’t people like 2A? I really like that seat.
