Best seats economy A380?

I really prefer the upper deck, and I have 32A/B J/K available, as well as 35DEF. 35JK are already filled . I am a WP1 until the end of the month so the exit row fee is waived for me if I select the seat in the next 8 days. I previously called up and selected 35D but after reading about DEF on here changed it back to 32A.

My advice is avoid 35DEF. People are constantly walking through there so you'll be moving your legs all the time or getting trod on.

Or wear bright socks that glow in the dark: seriously, last time I had 32K, someone in 35D had glowing socks.

OK, OK, I know it's not QF, but wondered if anyone has done the BA A380 in Y....if so, I can't find pics or reports that show clearly if 70A/K or 80A/K have side storage? (which are kind of equivalent to my fave upper deck QF TY seats of 32 A/K).

I thought the side bins ran the entire length of the upper deck and was a standard inclusion on all A380s and wasn't a choice for the airlines.

That being said though I believe BA do have the side bins on the upper deck in Y. Well at least the pics in this review indicates that they do.

Have managed to secure 66F/G for a mate and myself for MEL-LAX and return later in the year as a QC Silver. Have read that these are hard to get even as a WP?

Now to see how my luck really is a few days before departure and see if 32A/B open up

I'm flying QF9 / QF10 on the A380 25 July / 21 August, slightly excited as this is my first ever overseas trip , as a QF Silver and someone who can't splurge right now on extra leg room seats (may consider if funds available), what seat is recommended to be selected? I'd go upper deck if anything is available. It's obviously personal preference if you go aisle or window (I'm an aisle fan so generally go for D or G as it means only one person to move for). Outside of that they're all pretty much the same (obviously stay away from toilets).

71D is available on both flights. It is the seat with the crew quarters escape hatch in front instead of a seat, so you are able to stretch right out. Same conditions as an exit row for stowing items, TV in armrest etc but no cost to select.

The only (non exit row) seat available is 36F on both flights. I agree with sitting in the aisle, after a few drinks I'm forever going to the toilet lol, this row is next to the toilets so I'm probably not too keen on this seat.

71D is coming up as cost to select, $180 each way

I alternate between window and aisle depending on distance during domestic flights but as I've never been overseas before I think I going to elect window just so I can stare aimlessly out the window (and easily take some photos of the scenery)

71D is now charged for for all except for WP1 along with 80A and 80K they are classified as EXTRA Leg Room seats as opposed to Emergency exit seats that are by nature EXTRA Leg room All part of simpler and fairer.

I looked at the EF seat map and it came up as open to book, so assumed as I am only PS then it would be alright for the OP.

This just confirms my decision to book elsewhere - i depart for Europe on Finnair this Thursday, and if all goes well they will have me on board for the forseeable.

If there is power, it would be only accessible when the Screen arm is swung out ...

We have booked seats 36 J & K for Melb/Dub/Heathrow in a couple of weeks. Can anyone tell me please if there is a window next to this row? I believe it's a great treat to fly into Heathrow and see it from the plane. Also does anyone know if the armrest can be put up between seats j and k? I'm thrilled regardless to have secured a seat in this upper deck economy section.

Yes, there is a window at seat 36K (and a side storage bin).

For all I know armrest can be put up for all seats, except exit row, bulkhead and 71D,80A/K. But I haven't personally put up the armrest between 36J and K
