Best seats economy A380?

Does anyone have photos of 35K/J with the IFE and/or tray out? I just booked 35K and 35J LAX - MEL in April 14.

Just a question for the people who have travelled in the upper deck economy - have you seen any instances where there is not enough overhead storage? I am thinking of paying for the exit row which means you have to store the bags in the overhead space. But it does look limited so are there any examples where people are seperated from thier bags and where do they take them? Thanks

I have seen FA's take bags into the Y+ section.

Twice I have seen it happen and the bags were stored in a crew area behind the galley.

First post on AFF :)

Just got back from LHR to MEL on A380 a week or so ago in Economy. My wife and I were booked on one itinerary and my sister in-law on another. The flight was packed full and being Bronze (newbie flyers) we couldn't get ourselves sitting together.

So I asked with a smile at checkin if we could be seated together and got 81 D,E,F. Not classed as exit row (I think?) but there is a stack of room in front of you facing the galley back wall. My wife and sis-in-law (not tall people) piled the pillows in the seat pocket on the wall and used it as a footrest, legs flat across the gap - was pretty comfortable for economy.

Don't know if QF charges the exit row fees for these seats...?

81 D,E,F is not an exit row, but a bassinet row. Probably blocked for young-uns but not needed.

Do row 33 A/B J/K have limited recline?

No they have full recline and often FAs don't notice you are reclined when it's time to prepare for landing so at times you can get away with being fully reclined for landing.

I am P1 and rang up the other day to secure seats for our A380 flight from Syd to LAX in September. Managed to get upstairs in 32DEF for the family from Syd to LAX (have a young one so no exit), but was suggested 49ABC for the return. I've taken this forum's advice and will try and get upstairs again, as I don't want the galley activity and lights to keep us awake.

I was moved from upper deck to front row economy once, as there was an equipment change. I got woken up quite a few times by the galley during this flight, but this was the old config. Row 48 is further forward. Having said that, there is also a galley and crew rest on upper deck. I had 33K so this did not affect me.

Also called up and was offered block seats when trying to arrange for my family. I put myself into the only available seat 34F prior to this though, but it seems to depend on who you ask.

Seems like for SG, only row 34 is offered? This seems kinda ****.

On a re-config A380 SYD to HKG return. I'm travelling Y which is not something I do much . However circumstances dictate for this trip that Y it is. It will also be HLO.

I have the entire upper deck in Y available to me and SWMBO. I was thinking 36JK?
I hate people yanking the seat back to get up and especially tapping away at the touch screen behind my head. So thinking either 33AB or 36JK ?
Thoughts?

Either of those will meet your requirements.

Upper deck is nice and exclusive - very nice.

Doing SYD/HKG/SYD soon with Mrs Lime, we have booked out 35 K &J then return 32 A & B. Funny thing originally were blocked, but recently became a WP, logged in not long after and there they were, so booked em.

You must be referring to 32AB as 35JK is exit row seats for which WP is still required to pay.

Unless there is something new I am not aware of.

Yep paid think it was $90 each way, well worth it IMO.

I thought WP had a deal ? Did not have to pay.

Complimentary exit row seating
You enjoy complimentary Exit Row Seating†, where available, on selected Qantas operated International flights (flight numbers QF1-QF199). Exit Row Seating can be requested via our Platinum Priority Telephone Service up until three hours before your scheduled departure time, and Platinum One members will not pay the fee that would normally apply.
