:)

For LAX- AKL route, which row would be the best for the three of us, as the seat configuration is 2-4-2 until the last few rows where it becomes 2-3-2.

seatguru indicates that the 3 seats in the last few rows (54-58) have unmovable armrests where either the tray table and/or PTV are stored. I saw a picture of the exact same type, also a Qantas aircraft, and it seems that both the the tray and PTV are on the back of the seats 53.

So, is the review in seatguru correct?

I would say go for 3 seats of a 4 nearer the front of the aircraft if possible. Does the three include a child? Another option would be 2+1 down the side of the a/c, or 2 + 1 across the aisle, and you could take turns sitting with the child...

saetguru is incorrect.. all DEF seats in rows 54-58 have moveable armrests and seatback tables/avod.
i would choose row 54 DEF as u get xtra room from under seat 53G to use during flight .. go to qantas.com and look up their seatmaps to get a more accurate picture! although seats are slighty off centre it does not pose an issue with the use of tables/avod.. hope this helps

I'm also booked on the lax-akl service, but not until October. Have you been able to load the seatmap to select your seats?

Since the change from 744 to 332 the map hasn't worked, and telephone sales can't get to it either.

No I haven't tried doing that. I still need to get the e-tickets from my travel agent. I'll email them right after this to get the details worked out.

I'm used to fly with Air NZ who uses either a 744 or 777, not 332, so I'm a bit anxious.

Qantas website shows that personal videos (AVOD) only available on 744 and 333? What the.....

The AKL-LAX flight is still showing 744 though.

sadly qantas.com is not updated on a regular basis when it comes to product information :(
but i can assure you that international a332 have avod :)

It's quite disappointing that Qantas is not updating their web site contents continually. It looks quite good but without the latest information, it's not 100% effective :(

Anyway, thanks for all the help!

Fly - Onboard - Seat Maps - Airbus 330-200

It does mention that AVOD is a feature of the A330-200, however that is about all it says. It doesn't say that VH-EBJ does not have AVOD, but that is used for domestic ops only (AFAIK).

The best website for info like this is QFlyer - Qantas Fleet Guide.

The QF website is outdated with info like this, but you can did around and find it. The QF website is far from perfect but far from the worst out there for stuff like that.

i should have also mentioned that i have a rather thorough knowledge of the a332 international config ;) which is why i recommmended row 54 :) did i mention the extra seatpocket u get from back of seat 53G ?? (more junk space!) :)
