Best travel insurance [Is Qantas TI any good]

. Now it's just petrol.
Not even that after receiving a few hybrid electric cars recently, well the needle barely moved, I'm not sure how they determined the fuel consumption on it - thankfully my client had booked and paid for it all.

So I came looking in this forum after getting multiple quotes for a Japan trip later this year. Qantas travel insurance is now underwritten/provided by AIG (I assumes they’re different to nib). For as good if not better coverage, for $28 I can score 5500 QFF points. Seems decent to me. Anyone have any recent claims experience?

The free insurance with the ANZ Black card is pretty good. Had to use some recently and it had the best claims handling process.

On the other hand, CoverMore were slow, coughbersome, and actually lied about their own policy terms when I had to make a claim in the past.

Looking at the annual policy for Qantas TI...yet it seems to want you to put in your destinations...including stopovers. Why? It's annual policy for worldwide destinations. That's just ridiculous.

Are you sure it’s worldwide? A lot of annual ones are only worldwide if that’s what you select.

Or it’s just poor programming.

Nib for example is worldwide or”worldwide without Nepal and USA”

Yep.

QF (and many others) still ask you where you’re going but that doesn’t seem to make a difference in the premium.

I just select USA (knowing it’ll be cost driver) and move on. It also pays to check the cruise inclusion or not (as applicable).

But otherwise, for years I just took out a new QF Worldwide year after year.

Edit:
Note that you generally don’t “renew” an Annual policy. It’s a new policy each time. The main practicality being you don’t need contiguous coverage if you don’t have future bookings at the time the existing policies expires. Just buy a new policy after you make the next booking if you want cancellation coverage.

While somewhat off topic, I'm looking to change my health insurance provider, and have had a look at the Qantas offering. Based on the cost of what's being offered, and the reviews, I've decided to pass. I don't think I'd bet the life of my family on Qantas somehow. Oh, but wait, that's exactly what I do why flying QF...

Yes that's the same as my current provider. However they do not ask where you are or maybe travelling. It's an annual one so who knows where one may end up. I'm not going to X amount of places I may visit in 12 months.
