It looks like I'll end up on 370 SCs at the end of September which is 30 SCs short of requalifying as SG. Currently on 310 with two SYD-TSV direct trips planned (one booked, one guaranteed). I just saw the special fare deal for SG and above and thought it would be handy but it only comes into effect in October.

I could do another SYD-TSV return in the first week of Sept for the 30 SCs which at present will cost about $300 for the best fares. The super cheap fares don't seem to be available.

Any other options? Probably can't get them for much less than $300 I'm guessing. One and a half trips to OOL would be a bit cheaper, the problem is the half trip.

I requalified QF SG months ago after blowing a couple of JASAs then they gave me double SCs and I crossed the line with ease.

Thanks.

You could do one way to OOL as a flexi and the other on a saver if some good ones are about!

Upgrade one SYD TSV return to a flexi??

Does that double the SCs?

I've thought about paying the excessive price for a flexi one day just to get that soggy sanger included!

Yes, 30 each way.

Thanks. That adds up to $600 return as flexis are $299 so doesn't save money but does save time!

The alternative to go cheap to OOL and come back on a flexi is $248 and is all over in a few hours. That might be the one. I really don't fancy flying for the heck of it though. Might arrange a meeting in BNE instead but use that principle. Although looking at fares that gets nearly as expensive as TSV.

Depends on what your currently booked on, if you do have to do another trip then the real cost is of course the Flexi minus the cheapest fare. Apparently the 10% discount code I posted still works ;)

Where did you post the code?

The 30% discount is only for October onwards.

Thanks - that works as you said. Cost is now down to $227. All I need is a reason to go to OOL! Was there last week.

Wound up doing another TSV trip as I had reasons to go there. Using the 10% discount helped, thanks.
One leg is a 'Saver' - are the SCs the same as a cheapo fare?

yep- same SC's.

For domestic flights there are only the three SC bands for Saver&SaverLite, Flexi or Business.
