Birds of a feather

Trying to get a name for a bird that I saw at Mission Beach Qld. Had a blue beak. Not good photos obviously

After spending 3 months in Tasmania there has been a change in the species of birds I am now interacting with. The Butcher birds have gone and once again the magpies are the ones who come and talk to me.Not scared at all.

Also returning after a years absence are the dusky flycatchers/honeyeaters. But the are small and too quick to get a picture.

Naah.. we have a resident pair.
They get very antsy when I inspect their eggs and go nuts when the babies come out.
They dive bomb me but never connect, have occasionally picked up a baby which shuts them up.. until I put it down and walk away when the blitzkrieg starts again...

I don't know if any of you have been following BIrd of the Year. Today is the last day to vote. It's been heartbreaking to see some beautiful endangered species voted out. There are still a few in the top 10. Australian bird of the year 2021: vote for your favourite #birdoftheyear

Please consider supporting the Gang-gang coughatoo which has been neck and neck with 2 others for top spot. My heart goes out to the Regen Honeyeater as well, they have been polling maybe top 5 but I don't think they can pass the top 3. On'y 300 left and they are forgetting how to sing so they can't fnd a mate. Vote one with your phone and one with your laptop!
