Black Eyed Peas QF BNE to SYD incident

It does seem a bit odd that Qantas is the thing in common with both of these events. Does this sort of thing happen on other airlines?

It’s coincidental

What’s an odd coincidence is that apparently the same FA WAS ON THE V and the W flight....

Reminds me VW fudged the car emissions but how would either know it was the same FA?

RIPLEYS Believe it or Not?

Do you think he was being 'escorted' because QFd or the airport wanted to avoid a media circus, or was he being 'arrested' because of his alleged unacceptable behaviour? Mind you, if his behaviour had been 'bad', QFd would have banned him from boarding another flight.

Unrelated event. He was live tweeting from the flight. He must have been on a 737 or 330.

2. Staff (including you) have our full details (including in some cases access to 'sensitive' items such as dates of birth, occupations and email addresses), so why shouldn't we be at least have your first name and surname? If staff are going to behave in a completely unacceptable manner to harmless passengers on any conveyance, why shouldn't they be as accountable as badly behaving passengers are?

I don't want to have your surname, we have to have your full name. And QF crew don't have access to your e-mail, phone, address or DOB (although we are alerted to your birthday if it happens during the flight, but not year) - none of that is on the iPad. You also don't have to have my surname. There are 4 crew on a 737 - it will be pretty easy to track who it is based on the flight and a first name should you have to raise an issue (or compliment). And in this world of social media, it is so much easier for you to all of a sudden contact me with my name.

Now I can't speak for the flight and the events, but someone with over 12 million followers and in a world of keyboard warriors, he should be careful about tweeting a full name. The FA involved social pages are absolutely inundated with hate messages. Celebrities are able to brush this off a lot easier than any regular person. In fact, he already has had to tweet not to send hate messages because his fan base has gone wild.

The Veronicas have chimed in with some lies. They had a male CSM and a female FA according to their photo and this incident involved a female CSM - so their claim it was the same woman is rubbish.

By using 'staff' I meant (including) some staff (who are not flight attendants) as the database must be accessible to some.

I agree some celebrities can 'brush this off more easily', but it can't be all, as some have mental health problems and worse.

Most likely it was the B787 flight. Unless 2 different Afro-Americans (with entourage in tow) were each escorted by police from two different BNE-SYD flights on that Saturday morning. As for him live-twittering from that flight, I doubt it. Most likely done after landing and would be targeted at his followers.

And yes, as for the Vs getting involved, they need all the publicity that they can get. 🤣

The crew member in question is a domestic flight attendant. They are not trained on the 787.
I am no expert on all of that. So an FA cannot do both. Is that right?

Edit: Can an FA go from domestic to international (B787) at some point in their career?

I would not necessarily accept anything that the Vs have to say, including identification of FAs.

Anyway, maybe 2 of these stars ran into trouble, separately, on the day. 😀

But his major complaint is that of racism. The Veronicas and a couple of old white guys who said they were on the same flight said they were treated the same by the named FA so racism is not the cause for the outburst.Yes the FA might be pretty aggressive but from what you see on twitter this is a fairly senior FA who may be just fed up with ignorant people ignoring her requests.
So Will.I.am admits wearing noise cancelling headphones plus was "making a beat".had to look that one up but here is another musician "making a beat".I don't think that would have enabled him to hear any announcements.maybe he really doesn't know how to behave on a plane.

And note how Will.i.am refers to the FA with a hashtag.
"This is how your greeted when you land from Brisbane to Sydney flying @qantas with a #RacistFlightattendant named...She sent the police after me bacause I couldn’t hear the P.A while making beats on the plane wearing noise canceling headphones... "

I was going to also post a fan's response but when I went back to twitter they have edited out the really nasty ones which usually began with-racist b***h.
The FA's profile is still visible on twitter. It really could turn nasty for her.
Best comment-"The most important question out of all of this is what brand of headphones were you wearing? I need a new pair and yours sound great!"

But also pointed out he does have form.
Though on that occasion he praised "quantas".

Domestic cabin crew are trained on the 737 and 330. And whilst there are various transfer lists to go to international (and likewise to go to domestic), the flight attendant involved is currently working as a domestic flight attendant and the incident was not on your flight.

Why should they? There have been cases where staff have been stalked by passengers that i'm aware of
Agree.
For at least five reasons:
None of which I agree with as legitimate reasons for potentially putting a staff member in danger. Also, if a staff member does misuse a customer's personal information there are serious consequences for them including termination of employment and penalties for breaching the Privacy Act.

This article shows some very real dangers of having full names on display:

As someone who works in a customer facing role the I see this occurring everyday, especially with my female colleagues.

If there was a genuine reason for a complaint (and I'm not convinced there is based on the information provided so far), then it is very easy for Qantas to identify the staff member concerned based on the first name and flight number.

It could be argued that the person complaining has doxxed the FA and opened her up to serious danger. Not acceptable in way.

..

4. .......... anyone who really wants to can - eventually - find this out any way, although perhaps not as quickly as the hip hopper did.
.......

I suspect if that this fool actually had to wait a day to get the FA's name, he probably would have by then got over his "dissed" state and actually thought about what would happen when you tell 12 million rabid followers that person "X" is a nasty racist......

Shameful behaviour by the musician, but then intellect or judgement are not the reasons he is "famous" to some people. I am sure that he did indeed suffer, but really it was most likely just culture shock - as in the culture in Australia does not have the same aspect that the USA has of everyone pandering to dime-a-dozen celebrities. I am sure that in his own mind he believed, and still does, that it was an outrageous intrusion upon his music ponderings to be asked to take off his headphones. I am also sure he will have forgotten about this in a few days. And I am sure that the obscene and disgusting hate messages made by his fans will cause emotional scarring that the F/A will suffer for ever.

But as you say, "that's life"

As more comes out, it just confirms my suspicions about this Willy character and the incident. And as for those crazed followers who are posting some of the most disgusting things on Twitter .....

Nothing to indicate that QF will blacklist him. Just the opposite.

With all the abuse that the FA has seemingly suffered, and the wide distribution caused by will.i.am's profile, wonder if they may have a case for defamation.

I would like to think so.

Maybe AJ can show some leadership and publicly defend his staff. It is simply unacceptable to play the race card when race is not a factor.
