As they say over there ... “we’ll see your sad cough in court”.
And that's where it should end. Then we'll know. Otherwise it's just people expressing their particular points of view.

Oh. Poo. Surely AFF can get to 1,000 posts on this. 😉

Edit: Although the Veronicas were a big fizzer. Barely made it past 200 posts and they were “Ambassadors”(?). 🤣

Despite vowing off contributing to this "yawn" usual thread, I find myself doing so....

This is so typical of so many threads relating to Qantas. Some members just seem to want to assume or believe the worst.

These threads always have the same 3 phases:

(1) The story "breaks'. No matter the source of this initial info, some leap upon it to try to convince the world of their own sour view on the company.

(2) A period of banter ensues, often revealing the true positions or prejudices involved.

(3) when the real story starts to become clear, there is a massive retreat either done by vanishing or redaction of posts or trying to change the course of the thread.

I agree with anothers postings that Melbournian is an extremely valuable contributor to this forum. But in this thread they expressed some thoughts that I found outrageous. Seriously, that Qantas would bribe pax with points to give false evidence in the "court" of public opinion on this matter??? They don't even give points to valuable customers who have suffered!! :)

I acknowledge that "we" all make some mistakes, in the heat of the moment.

But what I would respect more is that a recognition be given to the situation where Qantas has stood fast by the staff member involved. That, to me, is very Australian. If this was Qatar or Emirates, not only would it have hardly rated a mention, but I am sure that the staff member, despite no wrongdoings, would have been sacked on the spot to appease the pax. This is the very great difference that an aussie airline lives and breathes. And I like that.

There are very very few airlines that will back honest, hard working staff, in the face of bullying by outrageous DYKWIA types......

Good post. I can understand people who feel strongly about things gravitate to forums for sharing such personally held views of the world, but in these instances and in particular of late has come across very agenda driven. I know it is natural in a way for similar foaming at the mouth to commence online in response to the most hyped players in the game from my experience on other sporting forums. As a result, the disease of advertising in the form of manufactured media beat ups like this is spread achieving the aims of the machine behind it who know full well the feelings that can be engendered.

If I were to be cynical I would suggest that the whole thing is a publicity stunt to get publicity the band's tour. But of course I'm not a cynic .... ;)

Maybe they are producing a upcoming reality show called

"Will i am and the veronicas, kicked off at first sight"

The part missing from all of this is this article. The Qantas story was used to push this disaster down the page. It was their concert the day before that should be getting their apology

Crowd exodus during Janet Jackson's RNB Fridays Live performance
Concertgoers have walked out just two songs into Janet Jackson’s headlining set at last night’s RNB Fridays Live in Brisbane saying her performance was a ‘disaster’. SEE THE VIDEO.

BAD lip syncing has plagued Janet Jackson yet again with RNB Friday fans in Brisbane walking out just two songs into her headlining performance last night.

Thousands of RnB fans rocked up to RNA Showgrounds hoping for a stellar performance from the superstar line up which included Jackson, Jason Derulo, Black Eyed Peas, Brandy, 50 Cent and Sisqo.

But concertgoers received somewhat of an anti-climatic end after headline acts dished out sub par performances or came late to the stage.

Black Eyed Peas rocked up almost half an hour late and 53-year-old Jackson’s set was reportedly so terrible that almost half the crowd left the venue before her third song.

Seems it may have been the ageing rockers that were falling short of community expectation before they even stepped onto a flight of either VA or QF

Except that the celeb himself admitted he was wearing noise cancelling headphones and didn't hear the FA.Common decency would suggest you removed them if someone was talking to you.
Exactly what you do.
He is a self-important Yank, after all.

He’s a hippity/hoppity person, which means that despite a lack of talent he gets paid lots of money & lots of people tell him he is very good. The imbalance between knowing you’re talentless & everyone telling you how great you are must be very ... psychologically unsettling.

Who are *you* to say whether he has talent or not?

see Post 131.It appears a lot of people weren't impressed by his and others talent.

Jeez, I thought it was pretty obvious (about the lack of talent) .

Ah, the pathetic pile-on mentality again. Pretty sure you don't know the first thing about him or hip-hop, and that your point about his behavior could have been made without criticizing everything else about him as well. But no, it has to be one extreme or the other every single time...

I have skim read a lot of this thread but I have to say taking shots at his status/music/talent/credibility/relevance doesn’t really add anything useful to what is out there in the public domain regarding this incident. I’m not African American but if I were then I might well feel that there was a racial element if I was met by Police after an onboard incident with an FA.
I don’t know what actually occurred onboard. None of us do.
But I think that the public naming and shaming of the QF CSM using one of her Facebook profile pics to publicly shame her on Twitter was abhorrent behavior celebrity or not. Whether he was feeling threatened racially or not. It’s just wrong.
If you feel you are mistreated you should go about the appropriate channels to complain.
Jeopardizing another person’s right to safety and security is not acceptable.
