"Bonus Confirmed Complimentary Upgrade"?

I've heard rumors that it might be possible to use the upgrade for short-haul international (mainly trans-Tasmanian).

Has anyone else heard something like this?

I heard this from VA call centre. I attempted to upgrade my flight to China (code share with singapore) and was told that upgrades are not available for long haul international, but could be done for short haul international. I didnt think to ask what ports from mel that may have included.

....sent from the place closest to the airport I just arrived at.

And also, my first upgrade, as mentioned in another thread deducted from my four plat upgrades, not from my bonus one. This makes sense, use the oldest ones first.

Not sure about TT but certainly not usable on MEL-NAN.

Was just wondering, does anyone know if these can be used with the 2for1 Virgin card fares?

Say if I book DJ SYD-PER flexi 2for1, will I be able to use my confirmed complimentary upgrade to business?

I did this myself recently MEL-PER. The only sticky bit is that you book the flights via Virgin (flexi to enable the upgrade availability) but you arrange the upgrade through Velocity. If you leave it too late there may not be any J seats left - not very likely SYD/MEL-PER as its the A332 and there's heaps.

Just book through Velocity, they can book and upgrade at the same time. I did that this morning.

I thought the pack sent out with the letter explaining the upgrade was quite well done.

Just received mine this morning and have to say that the pack is very nice indeed - must have cost them a fair amount to send these our to all the high-tier FF's.

My only question is - was it necessary?? I would rather them spend that money on designing and improving menus for the lounge/plane etc.

Well, I got mine as well yesterday and very impressed. Nice cards and never a bad thing to reinforce the brand and benefits to your clients.

"All" may be an incorrect assumption ;). I haven't received any pack......any golds get one or is it just plat?

I did notice that all of the cards in my pack were purple, except for the "platinum member benefits" which is a grey/silver/platinum colour.

My pack was also purple except for one gold card outlining gold benefits

I'm a mid-level WP (I have almost qualified for partner gold but not quite). I know others who were non-comped WP's (ie, were given it day one as they'd already exceeded the requirements) and have almost qualified for partner platinum, and they've not received one.

Perhaps they're just sending them in batches.
