Anybody had any luck signing up to the AAMI bonus? I keep getting a "URL missing" message when I click on the registration link??

Suggest you call AMEX & ask them to enrol you. I did...:)

The problem with calling them is that you won't see for yourself the confirmation of enrolment. I hate to get into a dispute after spending $$$ and the bonus points don't arrive. I've read too many cases of people applying for promotional credit cards over the phone but the call centre staff omitted keying in the promotional code into the system (or an incorrect code) without the applicant knowing.

I also can't seem to sign up for the AAMI one. The T and C's also state : Bonus Points will be awarded for transactions made at americanexpress.com.au/aami only.

I had to pay my greenslip with AAMI and couldnt wait around for Amex to sort out tue opt-in on the website.
Amex have confirmed in writing that they shall credit the 5x bonus points upon opt-in once it can be done....we shall see

I have the same written advice regarding the Suncorp offer but also told to ring up once the transaction appears and have the bonus added manually.

The online registration seems to be working now. I just registered.

Yep. Am signed up for AAMI as well now. But -"when you sign up for a new policy" does that mean renewals of existing policies don't count?

Renewal worked fine for me just before Xmas (on old bonus which also started similar)

You've got to love it when the system works... I signed up for the bonus online yesterday (11 April), took out a new insurance policy with AAMI later that arvo and paid for it on my Amex and today I see the transaction with all its 5x bonus points on my MR account. All very good... ;-)

Well that's a first...

I'm sick of waiting for points and having to set an 8 week reminder in order to call them and get it chased up...

The worst ones I've had to deal with are HotelClub but at 5x its worth it

Worked for me too! Mine was a renewal and all posted ok.

On first reading, I thought it was meant to be 2 bonus points per $ spend, but here, it's just 2 bonus points. So if your parking charge is, say $36, you get 36 points + 2 bonus points. Poor, I think.

I think it is 2 points per $.

"Park at a Secure Parking car park on a Saturday or Sunday and you'll receive 2 Bonus Points for every dollar spent. Secure Parking is Australia's largest car park operators with over 220 car parks conveniently located close to your destination. "

Sounds right. My earlier comment came from reading OP's post. It doesn't mention /$.

Sorry Foreigner! 2 bonus points per weekend transaction does sound like one of the dodgier deals out there! I'll update my initial post to make it a little clearer that it is per $ spent. (So much for copying the low earning headlines from the Amex website without thinking.)

[Update: Okay, it seems like I can't edit that initial post. Hopefully people will read through the thread...]
