Bonus Partner Promotions - April to June 2012

I paid car insurance with GIO on Monday expecting to see the 5x bonus points (for which I had previously registered), but only the normal points are showing.

Do I need to wait for the bonus points to post? I don't recall seeing that mentioned, and several previous posters said that AAMI bonus points came in immediately.

I am on the qantas ultimate card.

I went on the youi website on Monday 20/8/2012 as I had to organise insurance, I saw AMEX bonus points. I email AMEX and they say its not for my card. The qantas bonus partners website did show April 1 - June 30. I book the car insurance as this was required 22 August. I look today on AMEX bonus partners and now the promotion of 10 points/$1 is available from July 1 to September 30.

Emailed AMEX and they say if you did the correct process, I will receive the points between 8-10 weeks.

Will not be happy if I don't receive the points.

I find it incredibly frustrating that bonus points almost always exclude co-branded cards from earning... So other than an extra point for spend with QF, you get nothing. No chance of 5 points per $1 for hotelclub for instance, despite this being a card for travellers...

I've noticed that all of the current Amex bonus offers seem to expire at the end of September... Conveniently when the 'enhancements' for most of their cards come into play.

It would be fantastic if they go the way of the US where the base earn is less (ie $1 = 1 point) however have a HUGE selection of bonus points options in their points mall or whatever they call it...

So despite earning 1 point, if you choose to shop at their bonus partners for most of your spend you'd easily be ahead!!

We can only dream I guess, but it will be interesting to watch given the timing coincides.

If their website was updated July 1, then this wouldn't be a problem. However they update it in the last 48hrs for July 1. Stupid
