Bonus VA status credits offer - March 2024

Because that suits your particular circumstances but not those of the airline?

There's a reason carriers around the world are going in precisely the opposite direction and allowing people to acquire top tier status without stepping foot on a plane.
I don't care either way, just that it is then not a 'frequent flyer' programme by definition. Would make more sense to be called 'frequent spender', or 'furthest flyer' or similar!

What I do like about this offer is that the booking and travel period are the same, so there's not the same pressure to plan way ahead and book right now that you got with the previous double status credit offers.
Having said that, the bonus earning potential on this is much lower than in the past, so I don't like that. I'll be curious to see how (or if) QFF responds to this. Overall though, I'd say it's not a good sign for the future of double status credit offers. That particular type of promo may have run its course...
As it should, along with family pooling of SC.

Hi Peoples..
Newbie here.. Just a question and I maybe over thinking it but in the terms & conditions for this promo, It states..... An Eligible Flight Is: A ONE WAY dom. or short haul international flight.....
Am I wrong in thinking this is just for booked one way flights and the return flight I took to syd just recently wont count?
Any clarification would be most appreciated ....

A ONE WAY dom. or short haul international flight
A return ITINERARY consists of two ONE WAY flight. Hope that explanation makes it clear to you. But I do find that wording a bit strange, seems like flight segment would be more appropriate here.

Anyone received their bonus points yet? I'm about 50 SC short of getting back to platinum and have 4 flights this month; wouldn't mind the Economy X seats.

Nope.

I thought the T&C's stated upto 6 weeks till credited to your account, but re-reading it now it just says bonus SCs will be awarded at conclusion of the offer.... Which is where we are now...tick tick velocity.

I'd guess it'll be a few weeks, to make sure that any pending flights have posted before the credits are assessed and applied.

From the T&C:
Please allow up to 4 weeks after the Promotion Period to be awarded the bonus Status Credits to your Velocity Frequent Flyer account.

I couldn't find the link to velocity page so found below snippet elsewhere.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they wait a week or two for all the normal SC to post before they turn on the script that posts the bonus.

I’ve previously waited 3 days (some people have waited longer it seems like) for SC to post after a flight so I guess they wanted to make sure they let the dust settle first then calculate everyone’s bonus.

I too am keeping an eager eye on this as need 118 SC to reach gold and should qualify for 125 SC based on my 6 flights during the promotional period. The offer is no longer showing as 'Activated' within my Velocity Android app but am hoping this is because it is now past the cut-off point.

I'm the opposite. I had unexpected flying during the promotional period when I'd already requalified for platinum. My review date is the 18th April, it would be a nice bonus towards next year if my wife and my bonus arrives after then. Otherwise into the black hole they go (if only Velocity had life time status to work towards).

My review date is tomorrow. I’m hoping for a couple more days of delay, with pooling from my wife it will be a handy start to requalification.

The activity date might be Mar 28 though.

How does this work when it comes to qualifying for a higher tier? I expect the dump of points I get to push me over the line to qualify for Plat and some more, should I expect the excess points to count towards retaining the status for next year?
