Bonza Airline Discussion

I'm on AB1006 (BDB MEL) tonight.

The last two services have arrived in MEL 115 and 40 minutes late, tonight will arrive 175 minutes late. That sucks.

I was surprised to get a text offering me $12 "to spend anywhere at the airport". It's an 8pm flight now, and the only place at the airport to spend money is a cafe which closed at 4pm.

I did manage to scrape in at 3.55pm and ordered. Declined.

Not good enough.

It seems the morning flight MEL-MKY got diverted to MCY as it was approaching the field. Was a few 737s ahead of it on approach at the same time so does not appear weather related, assuming engineering and it went to the base port.

What time did they advise you of the delay? They would have had wind of the delay from about 11am when the original aircraft continued on its delayed way.

11.30am. So credit where it's due.

Although they only used SMS, not email, which meant a lot of tourists didn't get the message and rocked up at the airport too.

I'm having trouble with the check in process. At the dangerous goods question I select "No, I'm not" and get a error "something went wrong, Please try again"
Same when I use another phone
I have tried to contact them through live chat for the last few hours, No response.
Anything else I can do?

Even without delay it’s still not productive. Say an hour to airport, 2 hours checking prior, flight itself 60mins, 30 mins baggage/exit airport gate. 4-5hr total transit for most.

It’s only a 5 hour drive. Stop half way for lunch on a sunny beach.

Certainly not a route you would ever pull some chunky yield from, which is the aim at the end of the day, to make money?
No idea about that route but Rex do PER-Albany, WA and they basically fill 4 flights each way every day.
Lots of people don’t want to do the drive and it definitely saves time. Firstly most people check in 30 min to 1 hour out. Airport is not that far in Perth for many, and of course it’s even closer in albany.
Plus connecting flights (for those going albany to PER).

Unless you're departing from MEL if memory serves me correctly they are using the kiosks and automated bag drop in T4.
Yep I'm wrong there, they do have a few in MEL T4, had had them for a while now. Shame they don't have them at other airports.

Other option delete and reinstall the app. A long shot though.
Just in case google brings someone else here. I tried this and same error. weird it's just me from google searches

Update edit: the issue was I failed to complete the seat allocation. so once I paid for extra seating I was able to check in.
the chat assistance was unable to manually check me in prior to me finding the solution. Now I just have to hope my flight is not cancelled
