Finally, two weeks later, someone claiming to be from QF Loyalty - possibly from Manila - called me back about my email. I explained the question aboug the four qualifying flights and she reckoned that if you follow the 'book one flight' instructions it means you don't need to worry about the four flights requirement either. Confirmation of that which makes sense.

She didn’t sound overly convincing to me either, but I did explain the question of the four flights rule in words of one syllable and she in effect said it wasn’t a problem. I don’t have a transcript of what she said.

But isn’t that what the original announcement from Qantas said?

The detail of the original announcement was all about how the magic one flight booking meant you did not have to worry about accumulating enough status credits to requal. It was silent on the other standard requirement, which is the ~4 Qantas flights. There were however vast statements in the opening paragraphs of the email and the website text which implied that wasn’t an issue.

I am wondering why so many try to read into and complicate the QF Ts & Cs, there seems to be irregularities in most of QF Ts & Cs that are associated with offers be it points, DSC, SC+50%, this offer etc. This one seems pretty simple take one flight and your status will be extended. No need to over complicate a simple offer just saying to all you lawyer types.

Agreed. While Qantas has a penchant for making T&Cs longer than the actual offer, I don't see how 'take one flight' can leave any doubt that in fact taking four flights is not required.

No. They were just born that way.

I have a "Flight Credit reference 123456" which is a carry over from the DSC offer of Feb2020. The reference number is the same as the original booking. If I click the "find Flights" button and select a flight in this way, will it create a booking that will meet the eligibility for this offer?

I'm hesitant based on previous offer eligibilities which were later found to be based on the very first day of the booking references existence.

T&C say:

Eligible bookings can be paid with cash, Qantas TravelPass, Qantas Flight Credit, or with Qantas Points (via a Classic Flight Reward or Points Plus Pay).

So you should be fine. If it doesn't apply automatically you may need to call them to manually apply it.

If the PNR remains the same as the original then it wont work for this as the booking date will the date the original PNR was raised in my opinion.

It's not as well worded, but the criteria in the rollover FAQ mentions:

To be eligible for the Status Credit rollover, you need to book, pay and have the ticket issued on at least one of the following:

• Any Qantas operated flight with a QF flight number, or
• Any Qantas Points earning Jetstar international booking with a JQ flight number including Jetstar flights within New Zealand (JQ), Jetstar Japan (GK) and Jetstar Asia (3K) flights. Jetstar domestic flights within Australia are ineligible.

The specific inclusion of "points earning" for Jetstar flights implies that non-points earning Qantas flights will qualify.

Short of someone having inside knowledge, I'm not sure how anyone could say with confidence until the rollovers start getting processed in April.

Ok so my 1430 status credit got wiped on the 1st and then they applied 600 on the same day, are we saying that if I take a flight that my status will be extended till the end of December 2022? or do I still need to earn the additional 600 SC to maintain WP through to 2022?

My current expiry date for WP is December 2021.
