Book a flight and Extend Current status to 2022

2023, being 2 years away, it’s still possible for QF to provide a further extension. We just have to wait and see. 😉

Given that many will have, one way or the other, status locked in until next year, I wouldn't expect Qantas to make their next move until later this year. See how it plays out first...

As a March 31st anniversaty I was expecting to see some Status Support drop into my accouny first week of April but alas nothing.
So after 3 phone calls over 12 days I have finally had a win. They kept telling me my sitution was being dealt with by some higher authority. Not sure if this was because I went up a tier in the last flying year 🤔 anyway I'm well on my way to requalifying for this year with 660SC's (500 QF status keeper and 100 PC+) now in the bank with 11 months to go. Note the wording "Status Credit Adjustment"

When you say “expecting to see some status support” were you referring to the status rollover?

Yes as another 31 March year end, I am curious about the 500 status keeper SC mentioned. I have a massive 10 SC in the status rollover, but did not expect (and after the adjustment of error) did not get anything else. if there is a way to get 500 SC, I'd like to hear about it! Or did I misunderstand the very complex arrangements? FWIW I requalifed for WP last year on flying, and got this upcoming year on the "take one flight" promo. Without interntional travel, I'm going to struggle this forthcoming year, so if I could get the 500SC you mentioned @craven morehead , I'd be very happy.

Yes @Captain Halliday I believe I met all the criteria. I just wasn't sure if they would give me 250 SC's as a previous Gold or whether I would be entiltled to 500 SC's because I went up a tier. I finished last flying year with 1815 SC's made up of all sorts of status keeper, BP promo, Woolies promos and some serious coin spent flying domectic J.

My understanding is that you would be entitled to 500 SC's. It might be worth a phone call or 3. I will now safely put away Plat Stat until 31/03/23.

I was expecting to see the bonus SCs appear as Status Rollover but the line on my account says "Status Support"

WP should get up to 500, depending on how many SCs you got that weren't StatusKeeper handouts. Similar to craven morehead, in my case the 500 was Woolies, BP, QF Hotels and Red Energy. And some flights here and there.

Cheers skip

The rollover credits, I think don't count towards lifetime SC (i.e. they only counted to lifetime SC in the membership year ended 2021, not the year ended 2022 as well as that would be double counting).

That's the way QF is showing mine. It is showing 500 rolled over SCs to kick off the year, but no increase in the lifetime SC counter.

cheers skip

So I probably won't qualify as I did not get any SCs last year from anything except flights and StatusKeeper

Flights booked from 23 November 2020 and taken should qualify for the rollover. So say you booked and took 50SC of flights from that date to the end of your membership year then that's all you'd get rolled over.

Flights flown in the entire membership year should count toward rollover, not just want was booked after 23 Nov

And not even QF flights. The bulk of my rolled over SCs were from QR flights. The rollover is completely separate from the one flight extension.

They just dropped me to SG even though I booked and flew within the required period.
I see a banner after logging in:

“Keep enjoying your Platinum benefits
Congratulations ...., you've retained Qantas Frequent Flyer Platinum status”

I booked QF return domestic flights on 30th April, for June this year. End of QF status year is 30th April.

Hopefully after you contact them it'll get sorted out. Did you make a brand new booking with a new PNR?

I'm just wondering if a gift voucher has ruined it. 🙇🏼‍♀️🙇🏼‍♀️🙇🏼‍♀️It was ticketed in Feb 2021.....
And I had almost made it under my 'own' steam - just 40 scs short anyway.

Was the GV purchased prior to 23 Nov 20, if so that could be the issue. If you redeemed it post 23 Nov 20, I would be giving QF a call and see if something can be worked out.

Yep. Did not even think about it. 😩 I've called Qantas and they are looking into it, - they haven't officially told me this is the issue, I just thought this myself and at the end of the call they started blabbing on about increasing points by using credit cards as a general promo thing which really wasn't all that helpful and at which point I said I wasn't interested in that info. Clearly that's their new sign off line. Sounded like offshore call centre too.

But I still haven't received any status rollover credits for any of the several Qantas flights I've taken in last 12 months so they aren't doing well for me right now.

Easy to forget at the moment but the PNR create date is all important. It is why that method of purchase still works for other promotions ;) Hope it works out for you.

I had a classic awards flight booked in case Sydney faltered, for the last week in April but cancelled it because Sydney worked out. 🙇🏼‍♀️ I paid far more than the cost of the gift voucher too! If they had said PNR creation date in their blurb I may have twigged but they didn't mention PNR so I well 😔
