Book a flight and Extend Current status to 2022

Excellent point. Also relevant to my coming move from LTG to LTP, which on my pre pandemic travel pattern should happen when I am 107. Unless I retire before then or there is another pandemic, in which case it will take longer...

cheers skip
Yep, I only need another 43,885 SC to make LTP so I really need all the StatusKeeper credits I can muster 🤣 🤣 🤣

Not sure where I read it but with the status extension on one flight , one needs to have registered ?
Husband booked his and travel before the end of March and has had his status maintained another year to march 2022
Mine doesn't expire till Oct 2021 and I have no idea whether I have registered for the extension or is it just booked a flight before end of Oct and take it ?
Just going to do a quick one from Sydney

You don't need to register. However the expiry date won't be updated till around when the membership year ends.

The booking needs to be made between 23 November 2020 and when your membership year ends for travel before the end of 2021.

Thank you so much. I was a bit concerned I had missed out . Hoping to use some points next year. With all the cancellations I have few
Ok now to book my random flight

You need to book the flight before the end of October (for a flight anytime up until Dec 31). Your status will be extended at the end of Oct, even if your flight isn't until later in the year.

Well, QF seems to have sorted the rollover SC glitches. I got the expected result yesterday.

Any other time, 700 SCs to requal would be a doddle. But with just one possible international trip in the second part of this year, it won't be easy.

Don’t you just have to take one domestic flight to extend? No further status credits required.

When did your year end? Mine was 30 April, still Platinum but zero status credits now. No rollover and I did earn some from flights.

Yep, that's my understanding.
I was just commenting that they appeared to have sorted the rollover out, after the messy March where they rolled over too many, reversed it and tried again. However...

30 April. Looks like I spoke too soon :(. Possibly I got an early mark because as it happened I accumulated the requisite flights and SCs

Husband received his rollover credits with end of April 30. He too had already requalified so maybe that does makes a difference?

As a March 31st anniversaty I was expecting to see some Status Support drop into my accouny first week of April but alas nothing.
So after 3 phone calls over 12 days I have finally had a win. They kept telling me my sitution was being dealt with by some higher authority. Not sure if this was because I went up a tier in the last flying year 🤔 anyway I'm well on my way to requalifying for this year with 660SC's (500 QF status keeper and 100 PC+) now in the bank with 11 months to go. Note the wording "Status Credit Adjustment"

It really is a double win. Bonus 500 status credits to go towards lifetime status, but not actually needed to gain another year’s status as you only need to take that one domestic flight.

Indeed. The status support means I'm closing in on a lifetime goal. Even if international borders remain closed it's only a matter of time before I get LTS.

Um, I understood the one flight (book before end of member year and fly before end of 2021) is the trigger for status extensions ending 2022. Anyone with membership years starting 01 Apr 2021 onwards now have to still do 4~ and SCs earn (less any rollover) to achieve 2023 status.

Yes. Very generous extension.

At this time. If international borders don't reopen in October who knows what QF may do to provide some further support. QF will want its loyal international customers to book with them once international travel recommences.

I'm currently a SG, so if I can't travel overseas in my membership year commencing in 2021, I will seriously have to consider waiting to drop back to PS in 2022 before pushing to get back up to WP again.

Oh! ☹️. So just like Jan and Feb folk, earn those extra SC the hard way, hence help. Bummer.

2023, being 2 years away, it’s still possible for QF to provide a further extension. We just have to wait and see. 😉
Hopefully! I’m an Aug reset and will only scrape together a few SCs up until then. So not expecting a huge rollover. So Aug onwards to July next year could be tough.
