What are customers supposed to do if they have enough points for the correct upgrade, but not twice as many as needed for the incorrect cost the system wants to charge? I hope that call centre staff can also process the upgrade for the correct points, without trying to charge a fee.
I followed Kevrosmiths advice in post #21, worked perfectly although if the price had gone up I imagine I'd be pretty peeved.
To confirm:
- Customers holding ticketed bookings in V or L class purchased prior to the 18 February 2015 with a departure date for on or after 18 February 2015, will receive an adjustment of Qantas Points and Status Credits up to the Flexible Economy level
- Points will track and appear on the Members Frequent Flyer statement at the new reduced levels, with a post flight adjustment of Qantas Points and/or Status Credits approx. 3-5 days later (wording on account/statement will appear as: ADJUSTED EARN-BOOKING MADE BEFORE 18FEB15)
- A credit back of upgrade points will occur where higher level points are redeemed for L & V bookings ticketed prior to 18 February 2015. The upgrade credit back will occur regardless of whether the upgrade request was made pre or post 18 February 2015
- Lounge Staff are able to ensure the correct points are charged for an upgrade for customers who have existing Domestic bookings in V or L class prior to 18th February 2015 and wish to obtain a Domestic On Departure Upgrade

Hope this helps to clarify.

Didn't even know about this change until I saw ADJUSTED EARN-BOOKING MADE BEFORE 18FEB15 on my account just now...a quick google found this thread. Gotta love AFF!!
Hi JMFK, I am interested to know how long after your flight the correction was made . . . thanks
Hi JMFK, I am interested to know how long after your flight the correction was made . . . thanks
I just tried to upgrade a pre 18 Feb booked Flexi K fare at BNE Business Lounge and the desk staff there knew nothing about this. Wanted to charge 15,000 points (instead of 7500) and said that I could call up when the overcharge appeared on my account and then get a credit.
K was Flexi Saver and is now Flex... so there shouldn't be any change for that fare class. The change only really affected L and V.
You are right, my mistake - the fare was V, not K.
