Can someone advise me how to book Emirates flights using QFF points please.

We are travelling to Europe next year for a Mediterranean cruise and will fly Australia - Barcelona and will return Venice - Australia. Having looked at the Qantas site, there is no problems selecting FF flights getting to Barcelona on Qantas/Emirates but there is no option to depart Venice on the way home .... although I know that Emirates fly from Venice to Dubai and onto Australia.

We are hoping to book a mixture of premium economy and business class.

I would appreciate any help or suggestions that other forum members may be able to provide.

Cheers, Peter

Tick the box: "Can't see your city? Show Classic Reward cities" on the red field at the top of the departure cities list.

Thank you for the tip Happy Trails. Interesting though, I tried that and it only displays approx 1 day per month that flights are available ... and this is a mixture of BA and QAN. No mention of Emirates anywhere.

Try using the Multi-city option with Venice to Dubai as the first leg. And note that flights for much of January won't have loaded yet.

QF don't codeshare on EK flights to Venice. They codeshare on the flights to Milan though, which isn't too far away from Venice if that suits.

That doesn't matter for booking with points. You can book Venice to Dubai in Business for 50,000 points + around 314 euros. Using Multi-city will then let you book the flight from Dubai to Australia.

The "plus 314 Euros" is rather expensive as a paid economy flight with Emirates would be just around 375 euros. Hmmm, I have plenty of planning to do for this trip :-)

Does anyone know if EK only releases one F-seat per flight to QF in their 77Ws? Looking to book 2 F-seats DXB-ARN but cannot find a single date with availability (while there is availability every day for 1 seat).

While I'm not familiar with award availability patterns on this specific route, it would not at all surprise me if only one F seat was made available in the initial award release. After all, there are only 8 seats in the F cabin. If any more were to be released, I suspect it would be much closer to the date of departure, and only if they were struggling to sell the other 7 F seats.

When I was looking last year (fco - dxb) only one F available until a few days before departure then two more popped up.... The F cabin still had two seats not filled that did NOT come available.

Have booked 2 x J seats on EK432 SIN - BNE using QFF points for later this year. After making the booking thought I should have used the extra points for F as a special treat (normally fly Y but have accumulated points). Would still like to try and upgrade to F but I understand this is may not be possible as I've booked an EK flight with QFF points, but was wondering if anyone out there has any suggestions ie cancel J booking and re book in F (no doubt charges apply), ring QF or EK to try and change ticket or try at the airport when checking in. Would prefer to upgrade with points if possible but would also consider cash depending on cost. Apologies if this has been covered in a different thread (I am a novice at this) and thank you in advance.

Have you checked if there's availability in First? If there's availability you can call and ask them to change the existing award. There could be a change fee involved. Or you can rebook First award and cancel existing business class award. Think there'd be a cancellation fee of 5,000 QFF points per person.

Thanks you JohnK. I did check after reading this thread and it seems like there is only 1 F award seat available. Will call and check but thinking I might wait till closer to the day. I assume I call QF. Thanks again.

I am doing similar in August this year and booked awards 11 1/2 months out. Getting out of Venice was the hardest and I have settled on VCE-LHR-HKG-PER all in J. Seemed to be the only option available for J awards

I just tried booking an award on Emirates on the Qantas website but am getting the following error before the last screen:

Quote:

Qantas.com flight search error: We are unable to confirm the fare for the flights you have selected from the airlines we search. Please cancel these segments and choose a different fare or flights and resubmit your confirmation request. (15012 - 421)

When I go back to the search engine, the seats are gone from the system. This has now happened to two different flights I've tried to book. Were the seats not available in the first place (I've been checking for weeks and the seats have been showing in the calendar all along), or are they somehow held by Qantas but currently not bookable due to some error?

EDIT: I've tried making dummy bookings across a number of other flights and dates, and I'm getting the same error message regardless of the cabin class. Assuming this must be a temporary error, or can I only book Emirates awards over the phone?

Is anyone able to do a dummy booking of an EK award to see if it is working for you guys? I keep getting the error message.

Next step would be to give QF a call, but the problem is that the awards I try to book (and get the error message) disappear from the system, so I'm running out of flights on my dates to book at this point.

I've had that happen before when booking EK flights originating outside Australia, and when I called I found that there was a booking under my name. So I'd call and see what they have, might be several bookings by now from the sounds of it.

I was able to get to the payment screen just now, obviously that's as far as I want to go with a dummy booking :-)

Had a chat to QFF and they could see the seat, but not book them. Told me to call back during normal office hours as the "Frequent Flyer Services" team may be able to book it for me.

Weird.
