Booking Emirates with QFF points

Is anyone able to do a dummy booking of an EK award to see if it is working for you guys? I keep getting the error message.

Next step would be to give QF a call, but the problem is that the awards I try to book (and get the error message) disappear from the system, so I'm running out of flights on my dates to book at this point.
I booked SYD-BKK award on EK419 last week. I could see availability and book but call centre could not see availability.

I just tried again SYD-BKK one way economy on EK419 for Sunday 25 September and got all the way through to payment page.

That's a route originating in Australia, so it may be a different situation.

I'm going to try and call QFF today once the seats have opened up again (they disappear for 24 hours after I get the error message -- probably because they're held).

Apologies.

Just tried BKK-SYD in economy on EK418 on Tuesday 13 June 2017 and I can get to the payment page.

Are you able to try and make a dummy booking for DXB-HKG for 2 people in EK F? That's what I am trying to do, but it seems like no F awards on EK are bookable - at least not for itineraries not involving Australia.

Just tried DXB-HKG in First on EK382 for 2 people on Thursday 08 June 2017 and I can get to the payment page. 180,000 QFF points and AED2990.

Bizarre! Thanks for checking though.

I've spoken to four different Qantas agents, and none of them could book the seats that were clearly visible both online and in their internal system. Called QFF Services (reservations) yesterday and finally one agent were able to book the seats for me, only after she double-checked in a "second" system. No idea what she did or how to reliably repeat this process though.

Don't know whether the "second" system was just doing a direct access entry where the availability comes direct from the EK system via Amadeus as opposed to just a vanilla Amadeus entry specifying EK flights.

I've had res staff ask me for my pin so they can then sign in as me to confirm what is visible from the QF website when booking an award seat.

That may have been it, as she asked me for my PIN as well.

In any case-- I have no more QF points to burn at this point (and having relocated from Australia) so will in all likelihood not have to deal with this again.
