Justed booked 6 nights in SIN over Easter break. Found some good stay 3 pay 2 & advance booking specials that we decided to split the trip into two hotels.

Family trip. I find it easier to deal directly with hotels.....connecting rooms & all that stuff.

Three nights at the Four Seasons - stay 3 pay 2

Three nights at Fullerton Bay Hotel - advance offer.....enhanced by another S$30 per room per night discount. No idea why, but I have it in writing:D

Hi...Just booking some accommodation for 2014 and want to use the AKA-White House in Washington DC....bookings.com are $250 cheaper over a 7 day period than booking direct with the property..hotel wont match so have any of you used bookings.com and were they OK....says the booking is fully cancellable but in the terms it also says the hotel might take 2 nights accommodation as the deposit....do you think I would be OK to use bookings.com..I dont expect to cancel but have had a 12 months of family illnesses so a bit wary....

Have used booking.com many times without any problems Noreen. Sometimes on-line booking agents commit to take quite a large number of rooms up to a year in advance from the hotels so that they can negotiate a very low rate. Towards the end of the agreement period if they still have quite a lot of rooms they are committed to but haven't been unable to on-sell they will occasionally heavily discount them just to make sure they don't get stuck with them. The hotels themselves often won't price match under these circumstances. Have booked ridiculously cheap rooms through Skidoo a couple of times and there were no problems.

i use booking.com frequently and never had a problem. my most recent booking was last weekend, booked two months in advance... hotel was expecting me and all was good.

booking.com say their bookings are fully cancellable, but I think there might be a 48 hour limit on cancellation time. after that you pay for the first night or something (obviously varies slightly by hotel as with your property).

i often find booking.com cheaper, or has particular hotels available that I can't get through other booking engines.
