Hi
I am trying to book SYD-BNE-HKG-SYD on QF website. I want to travel SYD-BNE in the early evening. If I do a straight SYD-HKG booking search it only gives me one flight option via BNE but I want flights near that one. But when I do multi city it only displays morning and afternoon flight options and no evening options for SYD-BNE. I cannot select evenings in the initial booking page. Is there something I'm doing wrong or it does not allow such options

Thanks

You can do a multi- city search by price or by schedule. Price is usually the default, so maybe try the schedule option.

I have tried both price and schedule options and they both give me only morning and afternoon flights and not evenings. Any further suggestions?....or is it a booking that needs to be done via a travel agent??

thanks

I tried for you and got the same result.

Just book it as three legs, SYD-BNE, then BNE-HKG and HKG SYD and it will show you the options available. Keep in mind the SYD curfew and daylight saving may make it look like you have limited options at times. The pricing doing it that way so long as its a return should not be different.

Hi Markis10

Using multicity booking on QF website it wont give me any flight options after 1505pm for SYD to BNE. For eg on 22 March if I do multi city the latest flight option for SYD-BNE is 1505. If I do a standard SYD-HKG return search it gives me one option via BNE departing SYD-BNE at 2105 and then connects at BNE for the 2315 to HKG. I am trying to get a flight say at 1800 or 1900 from SYD to BNE and then connect 2315 BNE to HKG. I do understand the fare may be higher. Am I right to say that the website will not allow such option as multi city bookings can only display the earlier flights.

I think you have found a bug to do with daylight saving, I checked May no issues but your dates in March are as you say, no evening flights even with a $79 special on the 9.05, I would give QF a call!

Welcome to AFF!

This is a long time bug with the QF multi-booking system that irks me badly as I almost use multi-city bookings for every trip to SE Asia. It will only list the first 12-13 flights of the day for any city pair and usually SYD-BNE and SYD-MEL are the only one city pairs with that type of schedule.

There is a way to trick the system and that is put in something like SYD-CBR, CBR-BNE, BNE-HKG and then HKG-SYD. In my experience that usually adds around $100 to the overall cost of the airfare. By the way one of the JQ options gets you into BNE at 16:45.

Note when requestng SYD-HKG there are 10 options displayed. Of those they have used up (read wasted) 5 of the options with JQ domestic flights displayed. Why is QF displaying JQ domestic flight options.

Probably best to try and get the exact flights you want by calling QF reservations and they should be able to duplicate the exist airfare you need but you will need to pay the $60 (or is it $80) service fee.

Its $60 to use QF over the phone, or go see a travel agent who will match the airfare and not charge a fee in a lot of cases.
