Booking tickets on Thai / Turkish airlines on fare classes that accrues miles

I have tried booking economy class seats on both these airlines and I am always given a fare that does not accrue miles on partner airlines. The unrestrictive class type seems to offer me ridiculously higher prices than the restrictive class for Economy. Will be great to know the best way to book tickets on these airlines
