Hmmm, this thread is going on an interesting tangent, bossrggie. You may have two distinct groups:

1. A small number that take up your offer (once posted)
2. A larger group that utilise their Free Flight on DJ (through their Amex CC) to fly over

The restaurant at least will be known.

Please count me in.

For (2) above, the free flights could be on DJ from Amex, or on QF following the recent disruption.

The details last night sounded interesting....:D

I am not normally one for travelling just for a "do". But I am certainly interested in the offer as discussed last night. I assume the departure and return point is not going to be BNE, but would consider positioning myself and being part of the commitment suggested. Obviously will depend on the timing and final costs, but count me as very much interested.

3. A group that utilise their QF Grounding flight
4. A very small group that may use available sectors on DONEx or similar

Brilliant suggestion drron :idea::

5, A group who want to use their FF miles for redemption on award tickets

How about something from left field - a group that will pay for a flight

I will try for group 1, but fall-back option would be group 5.

Of course there is always group 6 finding JASA, YASA etc, group 7 who actually purchase a commerical ticket and earn for SC/Miles etc, and then group 8 being those risidunt in NZ and arriving by other means sech es bisuckle, jit boat, bungee or rup-stuck

Lunch in AKL sounds like a good time, if I'm free, I'd love to join everybody.

Now if only somebody (Looks at LW) could fill me in on this offer bossreggie is talking about?

Potentially interested based on timing and costs.

Perhaps Group 1..... Could maybe position for it.....

Alternatively depending on day, there is a redeye Deathstar flight out of CNS.

We will leave that to bossreggie to disclose. If his memory is clouded, then LW and I will be happy to fill in the blanks for him ;)

That was on of my meaning (but obviously not my intent) by group 5. To clarify:

Scratch that!

Deathstar have canned their direct CNS-AKL flights!

I could position though ;)

is perfectly answered:

It is his offer, thus his to advise - don't want to steal his thunder, because it is a cracker of an offer. Travel Guru was positively salivating at the thought and was the first to register his interest, within a second. It's on his "wish list"...

Some cheeky sods have even been SMS'ing me to try and find out...they are too impatient. All will be revealed by bossreggie when he is able. At the moment, he is probably still enjoying lunch and not thinking about posting here. Let him enjoy his lunch...

Yep does sound like something crazy yet fun. Interested. Not sure which group I'd fall into...
